Blogmas Day 7 ¦ Beauty Bay haul

If you are a regular around these parts you will most likely be aware of my love for Beauty bay, Makeup geek shadows and Liquid lipsticks. Today I thought I would combine the three and show you my most recent haul. I have been meaning to pick up enough shadows to finish off my second makeup geek palette and just never got round to it so I thought as my little Christmas present to myself I would finally order them. I'm going to do a quick run through of the shades today as in a couple of days I'm going to be putting up a full makeup geek collection post so you can see both of my palettes!

So without further ado let's start with the liquid lipsticks I picked up, when I went onto beauty bay and saw that they had restocked some of the Dose of colors shades I went straight on to see what they had got and was very pleased to find that they had restocked brick which is the most beautiful brown red shade which is just incredible for this time of year. I also finally caved and picked up Stila Patina after about a billion different people recommended it to me. I really like the formula of this and I find it wears well through the day without wearing off. The shade is a beautiful slightly grey toned pinky nude which I feel like I'm going to get a lot of wear out off. The final Liquid lipstick I picked up was Jeffree Star Liquid lipstick in the shade Rose matter which is a beautiful mauvey pink shade. This is a little brighter than I thought it would be however I do really like it although it is definitely one I'm going to get a lot of wear out of in the summer.

Rose matter, Patina, Brick
Moving onto the makeup geek shadows I picked up, in the end I went for 11 more of the standard shades and then two of the duochromes as even though I wasn't that impressed by the shade I had tried previously, which was Mai tai I'd heard good things about the other shades. For the duochrome shades I went for Havoc which is a cool dark brown with a blue duochrome and Steampunk which is a coppery shade with an incredible orange undertone.

Moving onto the standard shadows I picked up I'm going to go in alphabetical order as that seems the most logical. So first up is Anarchy which is a beautiful metallic pink shade, we then have bake sale which is a beautiful warm transition/light crease shade. Confection which is like the slightly darker version or sorbet. Curfew is a really pretty purple shade which I'm so impressed with especially as purple are hard to get right. Then we have desert sands which is fairly similar to chickadee however it is much darker, the Galaxy which is a gorgeous browny grey shade which would be the perfect lid colour for a really smokey eye. Next is Ice queen which is a pretty basic slightly sheeny white perfect for highlight or using as a base under neon shadows.

Pocket Change, Steampunk, Galaxy, Havoc, Vintage, Anarchy, Curfew, Neptune, Desert sands, Bake sale, Confection, Ice queen, Moondust.

Then we have Moondust which is in a similar colour region to galaxy however it has more brown and instead of a silver reflect it has gold. Probably the most bold shade in my palette is Neptune which is an absolutely gorgeous Neon blue. I cannot wait to use this one as I feel like it's going to make my eyes really pop. Second to last we have Pocket change which is an absolutely stunning warm gold shade however it isn't too warm that it makes me look like I have a slightly black eye. The final shade I picked up to finish off my palette is Vintage which is a slightly darker more pinky purple than curfew. This one is one I've actually used multiple times already and I really love it.

So that's it for today's Beauty bay haul, I'd love to know what you've been picking up recently.

  2. I recently got a Stila Liquid Lipstick out of the limited edition sets, The shade Perla is stunning but it isn't available in the normal lines! I adore MUG, I filled my large z palette. Slightly annoying BB have put the prices up of all MUG products.

  4. Those Makeup Geek shades look stunning and so well pigmented. I've been saying for a while that I want to try some but for some reason this post has made me not want to wait a second longer, I'm off to the Beauty Bay site!
