Beauty ¦ The Makeup collection - Powder eyeshadows

So I thought it was about time that I updated my makeup collection. This time I've decided that I'm going to be super in depth and I'm going to spread my collection out over 7 days. I just want to add a little disclaimer that I am in no way shape or form bragging I love makeup collection posts and videos and I wish that more people did super in depth ones. If you would like to know my opinions on any of the products in this post let me know in the comments and I can either link you to my review or give you a quick opinion in the comments.

If you missed them Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 are here

So once again I keep these in my Malm dresser in stodja cutlery trays from Ikea. Today I thought I'd just show you my powder shadows and then I'm going to be showing you my cream shadows and all my other eye products tomorrow.

So I literally just picked out six shadows at a time to show you. First off I have the Rebel young baked eyeshadow in Fairy cake which is stunning and metallic I just wish that I could pick them up in the UK. L'oreal's Colour riche shadows are stunning I reach for them on a regular basis as they are incredibly pigmented and super blendable. Café saint Germain is definitely one of my favourite shades out of all my single shadows. MUA shadows are brilliant quality for the price however I never reach for this particular shade (25) as it's a little to pink and I find I have to work really hard to
make it look nice.

Urban Decay's moondust shadow in cosmic is something I love to use when I want a little more sparkle on my eyes. It's basically just lots of different coloured glitters suspended in a slightly white base. The 17 eye pot in statuesque was something I used to reach for all the time however recently it has definitely been pushed to the back of my stash. Finally for this six I have the 2 true duo eyeshadow which is a really stunning little duo and a complete bargain at only £1.99.

In this set I have another of the L'oreal shadows in sable lame, another MUA shadow in 24 and another of the 2true duos. I also have a Jemma kidd glitter which I picked up from a discount store and I used it for prom. An Essence shadow in the shade metropolitan which I just a basic shimmery chocolate brown and then a Catrice single shadow in Oops nude did it again which is perfect for highlighting and as a very subtle base.

The Revlon colourstay shadow links are something I have mixed feelings on. The matte one I own is a stunning shade however I've found that the shimmery ones lack a little in pigment at £2.99 I'd definitely recommend the matte shades. The Essence pigment is something that I never ever reach for and in all honesty I'm not sure I've ever used it's incredibly pretty but far to much hassle for me. I don't tend to buy trios or quads at all however two of these where gifts and one came free in a set. The Bourjois trio has three stunning shades in it however it lacks a little in terms of pigment. The Essence quad creates a beautiful smokey eye however it isn't something I reach for often as quite frankly smokey eyes terrify me. Finally I have one of the Body shop shimmer cubes which I love when used wet however due to that being a bit of a pain it's only something I reach for when I have loads of time to do my makeup.

Finally for powder shadows I have 7 of the Makeup revolution shadows which are incredible for the price. I would definitely say that I prefer these to the MUA ones I also find that the packaging more practical and less prone to breaking and the pigment and blendability are a little better.

So that's it for today's makeup collection post, I hope you enjoyed.

Beauty ¦ The Makeup collection - Palettes

So I thought it was about time that I updated my makeup collection. This time I've decided that I'm going to be super in depth and I'm going to spread my collection out over 7 days. I just want to add a little disclaimer that I am in no way shape or form bragging I love makeup collection posts and videos and I wish that more people did super in depth ones. If you would like to know my opinions on any of the products in this post let me know in the comments and I can either link you to my review or give you a quick opinion in the comments.

If you missed it here is Part 1 and Part 2

I didn't actually realise before I took these photos how many palettes I actually have. I keep my most reached for palette in a set of two Muji drawers which I keep on top of my dressing table and then I keep the rest of my palettes in my Malm dresser in the stodja cutlery trays.

I have a good mix of high end and drugstore palettes however I do tend to reach for my high end palettes more often as I just find on the whole they are better quality. Some of my favourites include Urban decay Naked one, Urban decay Naked basics, Stila in the light, Nars virtual domination and my Mac quad. However I do still love my drugstore palettes and I reach for the Revlon photo ready primer shadow and sparkle kits, the Collection eyes uncovered and my Sleek vintage romance palette all the time.

Despite the fact that I love 99% of the palettes in my collection I do tend to use the same ones all the tame and I tend to neglect a couple which are really amazing like the MUA hall of fame palette, The Balm Balm voyage and my Illamasqua aura palette.

So that's it for today come back tomorrow for my powder eyeshadow collection.

Beauty ¦ The Makeup collection - Cheeks

So I thought it was about time that I updated my makeup collection. This time I've decided that I'm going to be super in depth and I'm going to spread my collection out over 7 days. I just want to add a little disclaimer that I am in no way shape or form bragging I love makeup collection posts and videos and I wish that more people did super in depth ones. If you would like to know my opinions on any of the products in this post let me know in the comments and I can either link you to my review or give you a quick opinion in the comments.

If you missed it here's Part 1

So today's post is all about the cheeks I'm going to be talking about all things bronzer, highlighter and blush. I've always been a lover of blush however bronzer is something that I've only recently (I'm talking in the last year ish) discovered as I was always terrified that it would make me super orange.
However it is something that I now use everyday and I couldn't be without it.

Just like my base products I keep these products in my Malm dresser stored in the stodja cutlery trays from Ikea.

So starting off with Highlighters I have mini's of both the Benefit liquid highlighters. I love both of these and I would happily pick up the full sizes however these mini's seem to be lasting forever. I also have the Beauty UK Blush in Halo which is such a stunning highlighter I find that it doesn't have enough colour to use it as a blush. Seventeen's bronze block in pink bronze is something that I don't reach for as often as I should however when I do I think it's beautiful. Finally for highlighters I have the Sugar box face stick in 01 which is something I got from Born pretty and is something that I don't really have much of an opinion on it's ok but nothing thrilling.

Next up we have single bronzers I use the L'oreal glam bronzer a lot however the other three tend to get neglected bar the L'oreal one all of these are completely matte. I love the Bourjois bronzing primer however I find that in the winter it's a little to dark and a little orange. The MUA bronzer and the NYC smooth skin bronzer are both nice for the price. I find that the NYC lacks a little in pigment and the MUA is a little powdery.

Finally for bronzing and highlighting I have my contour kits. My favourite out of the three is definitely the Sleek contour kit it's the perfect shade for pale skin although I still find it works for me in the summer when I am tanning. Barry M's contour kit includes a bronzer as well as the contour powder and the highlighter. I love the contour powder as it's super ashy and it leaves a super natural finish. Finally I have the Seventeen contour kit which I am not the biggest fan of it's okay however it's not something I ever reach for.

I love a good cream blush as you can probably tell my favourites out of this bunch are probably the Topshop cream blushes and the Illamasqua cream blushes. I don't tend to reach for the Stila convertible colour or the Maxfactor cream blush as I find that they can be a little bit sticky. I love the shades in the Sleek blush by 3 palette however I find it's just not something I reach for often. Finally for cream blushes I have the Rimmel stay blushed liquid blush which I like however I find that it tends to move around the makeup underneath and the P2 blush stick which in all honesty I'm not sure I've ever used.

Rimmel Santa rose was a super hyped product in the blogging world and I find myself reaching for it when I want a neutral cheek. I also really love the Catrice illuminating blush for a natural look as it also adds a little bronze. The Essence blush is really bright and I absolutely love using it in the summer. Both the Collection blush block and the Catrice defining blush add fairly subtle flushes of colour however I do find that they are less natural than the Rimmel and the Catrice illuminating blush. The Catrice is a little peachier and the essence is a little more pink however they both leave a beautiful glow on the cheeks.

Natural collections blushes are by far my favourite budget blushes at £1.99 they really are lovely. I was gutted when the Accessorize makeup line was discontinued however I have read that they have re-launched however I'm not sure if they have re-launched the blushes this shade adds a beautiful pinky glow. Mac blushes are something that I wasn't sure about however I do really like this shade and the formula. The Maxfactor Cream puff blushes are meant to be brilliant dupes for the Hourglass ambient lighting blushes (which I haven't tried) this particular shade which is Gorgeous berries is perfect for this time of year. The Essence Come to town cream blush is similar in texture to the Maybelline bouncy blushes however I do find that it has a better pigment. Finally we have the Clinique cheek pop. This is by far he prettiest blush I own I love these and I definitely want to try more shades.

That's it for today!

Beauty ¦ The makeup collection - Bases

So I thought it was about time that I updated my makeup collection. This time I've decided that I'm going to be super in depth and I'm going to spread my collection out over 7 days. I just want to add a little disclaimer that I am in no way shape or form bragging I love makeup collection posts and videos and I wish that more people did super in depth ones. If you would like to know my opinions on any of the products in this post let me know in the comments and I can either link you to my review or give you a quick opinion in the comments.

So I decided that I was going to go in the order I put things on my face. All of theses products are stored in one of the Stodja cutlery trays from Ikea in my Malm dressing table.

At the back I keep my primers as they aren't something that I reach for to often. Unless my skin feels weird or looks super dull I don't really reach for them. However I do always like to have a couple in my collection. Some of my favourites include the L'oreal blur cream, Benefit porefessional (In the little pot) and the seventeen skin wow 3 way highlighter. In this section I rarely reach for the P2 colour correcting primer and the Miss sporty BB bronze.

Now I'm a little bit of a foundation junkie and I'm always on the look out for a new one that's better than the one I'm currently using. I've actually had to promise myself that I won't buy anymore until I've finished some of these. Some favourites out the draw include Nars sheer glow, the Gosh CC cream and both versions of Bourjois' healthy mix however I don't reach for the Maxfactor CC cream or the Miss sporty Mission correction foundation and I've slightly rejected the L'oreal infallible matte foundation since the weather started getting colder.  I also keep my Urban Decay setting spray in this section which I absolutely love for when I'm going to have a long day or I am going out somewhere.

Powder wise I really don't have many as it's not something I use often. It's also something I only buy from the likes of Boots and Superdrug as I don't use it often enough to warrant spending any large amount of money. I currently have my favourite translucent, coloured and loose powders. My favourite out of the three is definitely the L'oreal BB powder which is something I will definitely repurchase when I finish it.

Concealer is something I'm super loyal to if I find something that works well for me I tend to stick with it. This is definitely the case with Maybelline Fit me and Seventeen Stay time. I must of had about five tubes of each of these because I love them that much. More recent discoveries are the Rimmel lasting finish and the Maybelline eraser. I also really like the Maybelline super stay however the lightest shade only matches me when I've fake tanned.

Life ¦ 3 years of blogging

So yesterday I passed my three year blogging birthday. When I first sat down to write my first post I never believed that I'd make it to three years. Over the past three years I feel like my blog has really helped me grow as a person (barf) I've spoken to and met so many lovely people. I've definitely come a long way since 2012 so today I thought I'd show you some of the posts from the past.

I had totally forgotten about this post, I absolutely love the nails and I'm definitely going to have a go at recreating it!

I loved writing this post as I love rooting through other peoples makeup bags I also found it super nostalgic as the whole reason I love makeup is because of my nana!

100 posts seems so long ago now I'm pretty sure that I'm on post 500+ I had to pop an old selfie in here somewhere and it seemed apt for me to pop in one of my milestone posts. (I think the bin really adds to this shot)

I love the photos from this post and I actually still use the one above on my blog facebook page. I'm pretty sure this was the first time that I was asked to write a proper post for a company rather than a review and I was really proud of it.

This is actually my most viewed post ever so I had to include it in this post. I remember this being so delicious and finding this post has definitely made me want to make it all over again!

I love this outfit and I forgot how much I loved my red hair I'm definitely tempted to dye it back!

I personally really enjoy reading jokey posts like this. I actually wrote a couple of these posts and they seemed to go down so well.

From Wednesday I'm going to be doing a super in depth makeup collection over the 7 days so I thought I'd pop this post in. I also love looking bac at my past makeup collection to see how it has changed.

Despite the fact I didn't do much exciting I loved writing this post. I must write more as I think they're super interesting.

When I read this review back I was actually quite impressed. It's super in depth and I loved the way that I went so in depth into the colours. This is definitely the best review I've ever written.

This is definitely the cleverest blog post title I've ever come up with. I love this post as it reminds me of my prom.

These where delicious and once again it's made me really want to make these again.

So I hope you enjoyed this post! Here's to another three years

Beuaty ¦ Mani Monday #8 - Barry M Poppy

I am so in love with this shade, it was something that my mum gave me as she just never wore it and I'm so glad she did. It's stunning and I've pretty much worn it constantly since she gave it to me. I love the fact that it dries to an almost matte finish. I did expect the shade to be a little darker but it's actually a stunning deep pinky burgundy shade. In terms of lasting power I got a good 4 days out of this which isn't something that I find very often. I really love this one for the winter as it's still that beautiful berry tone however it isn't so dark that it makes me look like Casper the ghost.

I'd love to know if you've tried the Barry M silk polishes.

Beauty ¦ A little drugstore haul

So long time no see. I have been a really crap blogger in the past month I just don't seem to have had the time to sit and write a post and I've also been a little short on ideas however hopefully I'm back for the long run and I thought I'd ease myself in with a little drugstore haul.

The first thing I picked up was something that I've used before the Good things manuka honey creamy cleanser - £4.99 is a product that I know I can rely on. For £5 it removes all makeup including waterproof mascara and leaves the skin feeling clean but hydrated and smooth. As much as I love my oil cleansers there is just something so easy about this cleanser.

I've seen the new collection palettes featured on a lot of blogs in the past couple of weeks so I decided it was about time I gave them a go. I picked up the #blushandglow face palette - £4.99 which contains a natural bronzer, a really lovely champagne highlight and two blush shades. I also decided on the #yourstyleyourmood palette - £5.99 which contains 10 shadows arranged into two eye looks. One side is your typical brown-y bronze shades and the other side is a much more pinky toned look. I have swatched these and they are an amazing quality and I'm super excited to give them a go on the eyes.

I love the Rimmel Kate moss lipsticks so when they released the new nude line I was super excited to give them a go however every time I've gone into store to swatch them they never seem to have any testers. I was very excited when I went into boots yesterday when I realised they had testers and in the end I settled on Shade 45 - £5.49 which is a beautiful dark brown-y pink nude shade.

The final thing I picked up was from Superdrug. The MUA Luxe London velvet lip lacquers - £3.00 where something I didn't think I was a big fan off. I have one of the shades in the old packaging and when I was preparing for a post I dug it out and tried it on. However turns out I love them so I decided I needed some more shades. I picked up Tranquility which is a really pretty peachy nude shade, Vivacity which is an amazing bright raspberry pink and Kooky which is the most amazing dark purple shade which I cannot wait to use!

So that's it for today's post. Let me know what you've picked up beauty wise recently!

Life ¦ The Rainy London Tourist Post

Last Monday me and my lovely friend Rachel went on a trip to parliament with college so today I thought I'd share some of the pictures we took with you. The parliament tour was actually much more interesting than we thought and despite the fact it was super rainy we had a really lovely time. This was actually the first time I've ever been to London so I really enjoyed going and seeing all the typical touristy spots like Trafalgar square and Downing street.

I really hope you enjoy these pictures and this post!

Beauty ¦ Top 10 high end products

I've been thinking about doing this post for absolutely ages so I thought it was about time that I got on with writing it. The majority of makeup collection is drugstore so I thought I'd share some of my all time favourites which I would recommend if you're wanting to incorporate a few high end bits into your collection or if you're just a high end makeup lover. A lot of these products are big blogger favourites however I thought I'd throw my opinion in the mix anyway.

Nars Sheer Glow - £31.00
This product is sooooo hyped in blogging world and I must say I completely agree with all the hype. It took me ages to purchase it as I was pretty concerned that I wasn't going to like it. I eventually bit the bullet and I am so glad I did. This foundation makes skin look flawless. It doesn't cling to dry patches and it doesn't make the skin look to dewy so that it makes the skin look greasy. Despite the name it's definitely not sheer at all and I would put it at a medium to full coverage however it can be sheered out.

Benefit High Beam - £19.50 for 15ml or £5.00 for 4ml
I absolutely love this as a subtle highlighter but I also love mixing it into a matte foundation to add a little bit of a subtle glow. This is actually a mini size which I got in a gift set however it has lasted forever. This is something I reach for so often as it is just so easy.

Clinique Cheek Pop Blusher - Berry Pop - £17.00
Can we first just talk about how beautiful this blush is. The gorgeous bright pink colour is perfect for all year round and I could imagine it looking stunning on all skin tones. It has a slight sheen to it however it isn't shimmery which I something I really love about it. The formula of these blushes is fabulous they really stick around and they are super easy to blend into the skin which I love as it's so bright.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer potion - £16.00
This product is something I feel like I will never be without. It is incredible and it absolutely saves me from my oily eyelids. This primer means that my eyeshadow lasts all day rather than about an hour. There's not really much more to say about this other than if you have oily eyelids this will be a life saver.

Mac Paint pot - Bare study - £16.00
This is one of my favourite shadow bases as it is such a stunning colour, it's a golden champagne shade which looks lovely under pretty much any shade. This paired with the Urban decay primer potion means that your shadow is going nowhere so if you have really really oily eyelids these two are the perfect pairing.

Urban Decay Naked 1 - £38.00
Could I really do a high end favourites without including this beautiful palette. This palette is just the best for people who love warm toned neutral shadows. I love how there is a mix of gold and pink shades. If you are a avid blog reader you will probably know that the Urban Decay shadows are insanely pigmented and creamy. If you where to buy one thing from this post I think this is probably my favourite high end product!

Urban Decay Naked basics 1 - £23.00
So two of the Naked palettes is probably a little over the top but I just couldn't choose between the two. This is one of my favourite palettes for traveling as it's so tiny and compact. The shades work really nicely together and I really love Faint for in my brows as it's quite an ashy brown shade. This is an amazing palette if you love matte neutral shades.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat - Pillow Talk - £16.00
So if you read my blog regularly you will know that I am on a little bit of a lip liner obsession at the moment. This shade is the perfect my lips but better shade for me (ew I hate that phrase) I love it for making my lips look a little bigger. The formula is creamy but it doesn't slip around.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector - 01 - £18.00
I'm usually not a lip gloss person but I absolutely adore this gloss. It is in no way sticky and it feels very much like a lip balm on the lips. The shade is so very slight that it just evens out any pigmentation on the lips and leaves them with the most beautiful glossy look.

Mac Satin Lipstick - Rebel - £15.50
As with the Naked palette it wouldn't be a high end favourites without a Mac lipstick. Rebel is my favourite Mac lipstick that I own. I love the satin formula as it's not drying but it's super long lasting like a matte formula. The shade is a beautiful pink toned purple which is very autumnal.

Left to Right - Clarins 01 - CT Pillow talk - Mac rebel - Benefit High beam - Mac Bare study - Clinique Berry pop

Life ¦ Foodie Friday - Graze box 4

So I'm back again with another Graze box post I absolutely love these boxes and I'd suggest everyone gave them a go! I actually have a code which means you can get a free box so if you'd like a box enter the code VKQMGNGKB

So without further ado lets get on with talking about the snacks. I was really happy to find this month that my box contained 3 of the savoury snacks as I've been preferring savoury over sweet in the past couple of months.

Starting with the sweet snack, Salted fudge and peanut cookie was something I wasn't sure about I found that I enjoyed the salted peanuts and the fudge as a combination however I wasn't sure about the cookies with the salt on them. I also wasn't a big fan of the plain red skin peanuts.

Verdict - Bin

I absolutely love pretzels so when I saw I had the Brooklyn bites snack in my box I was very excited. I also loved the cheese flavoured cashews however it did included some sunflower seeds which I wasn't convinced about however with the cheese powder of the cashews I actually really enjoyed them.

Verdict - Like

Next up we have Habas tapas which I absolutely loved this snack includes roasted corn, jumbo chilli corn and chilli broad beans. I absolutely loved these. I love anything chilli and these have a really lovely kick, I would say if you aren't a fan of spice to avoid these.

Verdict - Love

Finally we have my favourite snack out of this months box Olive and rosemary bruschetta. I absolutely love and of the graze snacks which have the croutons, mini breadsticks and flavoured cashews in them and this one is no exception. At only 115 calories it's not to be sniffed at either.

Verdict - Love

So that's it for this months box, don't forget to utilise the code at the top and claim your free box!

Beauty ¦ The Primark nude lip

This purchase was definitely one of those completely random ones. I'd heard a couple of people mention the lip liners from Primark however I never really gave them much thought. I'm not even sure I've heard the liquid lipsticks mention however I decided for £3 I may as well give a liner and a liquid lipstick a go.

So lets start with packaging, I think for the price the packaging's pretty nice. I like the black and gold and I really love the way the lip liner shows the colour on the lid and the end making it easy to choose which one you want if you have a few. The packaging of the lipstick actually feels super sturdy and I was impressed by the brush too. The only thing I will say is that the writing is beginning to rub off the front of mine however I did walk round in Primark with it in my hand for ages so that could be why.

I wasn't sure what to expect of the lip liner, I find some really inexpensive lip liners can be incredibly drying and difficult to work with. However I found it was creamy but not to creamy that it felt like it wasn't going to hold anything in place. As for the colour I am 100% in love with it. I would describe it as a very mauve-y nude. I think the shade is called 09 however it isn't very clear so I'm not 100% sure. Against swatches I've seen on the internet this shade seems in the same family as the likes of Mac Whirl and Soar. So if you are into those kind of shades then I'd highly recommend this liner.

As for the liquid lipstick I wasn't sure what to expect as it doesn't actually state what finish it is. As for the applicator I really love it, at first I thought it put to much product on the lips however as I worked it into the lips I realised that it worked best for spreading the product out once on the lips rather than applying and even layer straight onto the lips. I do like the formula of the product once it's dried however it is a little bit of a pain waiting for it to dry as it is super sticky while it's drying.

Overall I'm actually really impressed with these two products especially for the price!
