Blogmas ¦ Day 31 - 2015 Favourites

So it's that time of year again, 2015 has been an incredible year for makeup and I feel like it's the year that I have discovered some incredible products that I will be using for years to come. I decided this year that I would keep it even and do the same amount of drugstore as high end so without further ado lets get on with it.

Nars sheer glow -
I think if I had to pick my absolute favourite product from 2015 it would be this one. I just love the way it looks on my skin and it has the best lasting power I've ever found in a foundation. This is going to be a definite repurchase for me.

Maybelline super stay better skin concealer -
I was pretty loyal to my Maybelline fit me concealer until about half way through the year when I decided to give this one a go. This is pretty much just a thicker version of fit me with more coverage. I will say that the one thing I do dislike about is that

Urban decay All nighter setting spray-
I was pretty sceptical about this at first and when I first sprayed it on my face I panicked big time but once I'd managed to control the hysteria (You think i'm joking) I realised in fact that my face had dried and that everything looked as it did before I sprayed it on my face. It really does make foundation last longer and a little goes a very long way.

Clinique Cheek pop blusher in Berry pop -
I absolutely love this blush for one the daisy design is just beautiful but more importantly the shade is completely perfect for me. Its a medium pink berry shade which just looks so natural. This is definitely the blush I reach for if I don't know what blush to wear.

Gosh Velvet touch liner in Black ink -
I think this year I finally found my perfect black liner. This pencil is creamy however that doesn't mean that it ends up half way down my face 3 minutes after I apply it (Avon super shock liner I'm looking at you) This is another one of those products that I now couldn't be without.

L'Oreal Brow artist plumper in Medium/Dark -
I have the most unruly brows and this has been the product I've reached for to set them ever since I picked it up (Although I think I like Gimme brow even more watch this space!) This not only sets my brows in place all day but it also has just enough colour to wear it without a brow pencil if I wanted to.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip cheat in Pillow talk -
If you'd have told me at the start of the year that I'd be obsessed with lip liners by the time summer rolled up I'd have laughed at you however it happened and I have to say this one is definitely my favourite. I love it for under most lipsticks but I also love using it on it's own. It's also fab for over drawing your lips if that's your thing.

Bourjois Rouge edition velvets -
Now I've only had two of these shades for about a week however I've had the bright pink shade called pink pong since the summer and I just absolutely love the formula of them. They are hydrating and non drying yet they set completely like a matte lipstick. My favourite thing about them is that when you rub your lips together they don't feel super tacky like some matte lipsticks can and for £9.00 you really can't complain about the quality.

So that's my 2015 favourites, I'd love to know what you guys have been loving this year!

Happy new year!

Blogmas ¦ Day 30 - This week... #1

So I've decided it was about time I brought back my this week posts as I personally really love writing them and I love looking back at them to see what I was up to this time last year. This week has been pretty much me just going round to everyone else's houses and taking pictures of their Christmas trees and anything else festive in their house because I'm completely normal. We also went out for a cheeky wetherspoons and spent some time with my family. I've pretty much had the perfect Christmas I've eaten lots and been very merry I hope you've all had a fabulous Christmas and wishing you all a wonderful New year.

Blogmas ¦ Day 29 - Primark makeup

Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying out some items from Primark's beauty range and today I thought i'd give you my thoughts. Overall I will say I'm really impressed with the products for the prices they really are brilliant quality however there are a few products that I prefer to others.

There are a couple of the products that I'm not overly bothered by the brow pencil in Dark is okay. For me personally it's a little too waxy and I also find that it is just far to dark for me. I've got quite dark hair but it's a very rich chocolate brown shade so if I'm not really careful it can end up looking far to dark. I also wasn't overly impressed with the Liquid lipsticks (Which I forgot to photograph) They are okay however I personally much prefer a matte liquid lipstick rather than a glossy one so they aren't for me.

I've actually been using the liquid concealer under my eyes for the past couple of weeks and I'm honestly really enjoying it. It isn't heavy but it offers a fairly substantial amount of coverage for the tiny price of £1.50. It's also a really lovely pale shade which I find is really difficult to get in a very low end concealer. The four shadow palette was something that I didn't really know what to expect but I'm pretty happy with it. Don't get me wrong they are in no way the most amazing shadows I've ever tried but for £2.00 for four shades I just can't complain. They are easy to blend and give of a pretty amazing pigmentation for the price. If you are wanting to try a smokey eye without investing massive amounts of money I'd highly suggest giving the smokey one a go (unfortunately they don't have any names)

Finally onto my favourite products from the range the Lip liners and the velvet matte lip pencils are both amazing products. The velvet matte lip pencils are so creamy and comfortable to wear but they provide a really lovely long lasting matte finish. I've actually ended up with the three dark shades but I love them all so much. The lip liners are also incredibly creamy but they work brilliantly to stop lipstick fading so fast and reduce/eliminate bleeding.

So overall I'd highly recommend you give the Primark makeup range a go.

Blogmas ¦ Day 28 - A gift with purchase enabled haul

So you know when there are Christmas gifts with purchase and you've just been paid and you can't quite manage to restrain yourself. This was definitely one of those times, I mean look how much stuff I got for under £50 I'm pretty sure that makes it justifiable right? These gifts are still available online but I'm pretty sure you will probably struggle to find them in store. So without further ado lets get on to what I bought.

I think out of the three the Revlon gift was probably my favourite, it was also the best deal as not only have Revlon got the free gift offer running their products are also on three for two. I decided in the end to pick up the Super lustrous lipstick in Black cherry which is something I've been wanting to try for such a long time. I also went for another Matte balm in the shade fiery which is a really lovely dark berry colour and one of their Powder blushes in Racy rose. I was also super happy with the free gift products. The Colourstay quad in the shade addictive is the perfect everyday quad and paired with the Lip butter in the shade crème Brule it is the perfect no makeup, makeup look. I haven't given the 3D volume mascara a go yet as I've got a couple on the go at the moment but I've heard good things about all of Revlon's mascara so I'm excited. Finally the Colourstay gel envy polish in Perfect pair which has an absolutely fantastic formula and has definitely made me want to pick up more shades.

Next up we have L'Oreal, I actually made a couple of repurchases. I decided to pick up another Infallible matte primer as I really enjoyed using the last tube I had and my primer stash is running very low at the moment. I also decided to repurchase the True match foundation as I haven't used it since it was formulated so I was curious. Inside this gift box was four products I can't actually find on the boots website so I'm not sure if they are available to be purchased separately. The first thing is the colour riche quad in Jungle jade which is absolutely beautiful however I'm not sure how much I will use it as I'm not a massive fan of any type of colour on my eyes. This box also included the Mega volume collagen mascara and the Super liner so couture which I haven't used yet and a polish which I have absolutely no idea what it's name is.

So finally we have the Bourjois box, I'd have to say that this one comes a very close second to the Revlon box. From Bourjois I purchased the Rouge edition velvet in Nude-ist. I've been wanting to pick up more of these since I purchased my first one a couple of months ago and I'm so glad I decided to as I think they are incredible. I also picked up the colour edition 24 hour eyeshadow in Petale de glace which is so stunning and I cannot wait to use it. In the box I received another rouge edition in the shade Hot pepper which is just as amazing as the other two. One of the smokey stories quads in Upside brown which I am very excited to try. The volume glamour mascara which once again I haven't tried and one of the So laque polishes in the shade Rouge escarpin.

So that's my not so little gift with purchase haul, I'd love to know what you've been buying recently!

Blogmas ¦ Day 27 - Everyday makeup #3

Recently I've been keeping my makeup pretty simple and natural. Starting with base I've been using Nars sheer glow religiously for the past couple of months and then I've been concealing under my eyes with the Seventeen Stay time concealer and concealing any blemishes with the Rimmel Lasting finish concealer. Then I've been using lots of contour from the Barry M chisel cheeks contour kit. Then for blush I've been using the Maxfactor cream puff blush in Gorgeous berries and then finally for my face I've been highlighting with the MUA undress your skin highlighter.

Then I'd been filling in my brows with the Maybelline colour tattoo in Permanent taupe. For my eyes I've been using Urban Decay's Primer potion and then I've been applying winged liner with the Miss sporty felt tip liner and lining my water line and tight line with the Gosh velvet touch liner. Then I add a couple of coats of the Soap and Glory Thick and fast mascara.

Finally for lips I've been using the Ps... love lip liner in Dark pink and Sleek's Matte me in Birthday suit which is definitely my favourite lip combo at the moment! Super simple and pretty natural.

Blogmas ¦ Day 24 - Festive makeup look - Bronzey Smokey eyes

Happy christmas eve guys! I'm begining to get very excited for the big day now and I absolutely can't wait to read about all of your Christmas days. Following on from yesterdays post I'm doing a more eye heavy look today. If you missed yesterdays post you can catch up //here// So without further ado lets jump in.

So my initial base of Nars sheer glow and the Rimmel Lasting finish concealer however as I was doing a heavy eye I also put some of the Maybelline Super stay better skin concealer under my eyes just to make sure there were no signs of darkness. I then went for Nars Laguna for a little bit of a lighter contour and finally for my base I applied a little bit of Nars Deep throat on my cheeks.

For eyes I applied a base of the Urban Decay primer potion and then I put Mac Woodwinked all over the lid. I then applied Smog and Dark horse from the Urban Decay into the outer v and under the eyes to really smoke up the look. Then it was time for lashes and I used the same Born pretty lashes that I used in yesterdays post and applied a thin coat of Maxfactor false lash effect just to blend them in to my normal lashes. I then filled my brows in with the Maybelline brow satin pencil. To finish off the look I applied Charlotte Tilbury's Bitch perfect and gave my face a couple of spritzes of the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.

Have you decided what makeup you will be wearing on Christmas day yet?

Blogmas ¦ Day 23 - Festive makeup look - The dark lip

So since we are only two days away from the big day I thought that today and tomorrow I'd show you a couple of festive make up looks. Today it's all about the dark lip and then tomorrow I'm going to be showing you a dark eye.

Now base wise I'm pretty much sticking to my typical everyday base at the moment. I am obsessed with Nars sheer glow and I have been using it pretty much everyday for the past month. It's a high coverage but still natural looking which I absolutely love. I've then been applying a tiny amount of the Rimmel Lasting finish concealer under my eyes and on any other bits of my face which I feel need a little coverage. I've then been adding a tonne of contour in the form of Barry M's contour kit which I just absolutely adore. Then a little bit of Benefit High beam on the tops of my cheekbones. Finally for my face I decided on Mac Fleur power as it adds a little bit of colour without being to overpowering.

I popped a bit of the Maybelline Brow satin pencil through my brows. Then moving onto my eyes I decided to keep it simple. I started with a little bit of Urban Decay primer potion to neutralise the lid and prime and then I applied a bit of the Mac Bare study paint pot then finally on the lid I applied the Urban Decay Moon dust shadow in cosmic with a flat brush to pack on as much glitter as I could. Then I topped it off with lots of mascara and some lashes from Born pretty. Finally to finish off the look I applied Collection gothic glam lipstick in Revenge.

To seal everything in place I then spritzed a couple of pumps of the Urban Decay all nighter spray onto my face.

Blogmas ¦ Day 22 - Reindeer nails

I thought these nails where just to cute to not show you. I'm finally starting to feel a little more festive as college is over and we've finally got a Christmas tree. So today I thought I would share this really cute nail design with you. I'm pretty sure I did a very similar design but I thought I would update the post with some better quality images and share it for those of you that weren't following me last year.

So I started off by painting all of my nails completely white as I personally find it's the best base colour for these nails. I then waited until that was completely dry as it can very easily all end up smudging into one big mess. I then used a Nude shade from miss sporty and painted the heads. I did this by doing one stroke of polish down the middle of my nails and then I rounded them off with the edge of the brush. Then it was time for the reindeers facial features. I would again recommend leaving the nude polish to dry completely as it just makes it much easier. I used the brushes from my Rio nail art pens as I find the brush makes everything a lot easier than when I use the little squeezy but. Finally I topped everything off with a top coat and they where done.

I feel like these would also be super cute with silver glitter over them to give them a snow like effect. Let me now if you've been trying any festive nail art!

Blogmas ¦ Day 21 - The pros and cons of laser hair removal.

Hi guys, for todays blog post I've got a fab post about the pros and cons of laser hair removal. It's not something I personally have tried myself but I'm definitely considering after reading all the pros. So I hope you guys find this post useful.
Unwanted hair can really be a pain, especially if you don't want to be shaving and waxing it away
almost constantly. So, you might think that the best solution is to have laser treatment. After all, that
will just zap the hair away for good, right? Well, that isn't exactly true. Laser hair removal procedures
are a great solution, but they aren't magical. It's important to have realistic expectations. So, here are
some things to remember.
It is absolutely true that they can get rid of hair in a more exact and effective way than waxing or
shaving. First of all, a single procedure is extremely accurate, and won't leave any embarrassing single hairs behind like shaving might. In the long term, they are also more effective than those methods because the machines can pinpoint hairs and get rid of them all the way down to the follicles, which means that they won't return as quickly as they might after you shave them. After all, shaving only removes what you can see, not what lies beneath.
Another nice thing about a Hair removal laser is that it tends to not be as painful as waxing, at least according to most patients. It's also much more comfortable than having electrolysis. That and the fact that it is a quick procedure that usually takes only an hour or so make it extremely popular.
Side Effects That You Could Experience
Of course, when you make your first appointment, you should be aware ahead of time that there could be some slight side effects. The most common one is that your skin could be red for several hours after you leave the clinic. Some swelling may also happen, but that's generally more common during other forms of laser skin treatment, such as wrinkle reduction.
A more serious problem is that you could have some sort of reaction to the beam or its effects. For
example, you could develop blisters, welts, or changes in skin colour. But the good news is that all of
those side effects are extremely rare when patients choose their treatments wisely.
What Does Choosing a Procedure Wisely Mean?
Depending on the colour of your skin, the colour of your hair, and your general skin health, certain types of machines may not be suitable to remove your unwanted hair. That's because the heat from the lasers combined with the fact that many of them are designed to target darker hair can react badly to your particular combination of skin and hair. But don't let that stop you because there are plenty of machines that actually can work for you, especially when operated by trained technicians.
Perfect and Permanent Results Don't Exist
One final thing to remember, if you want to have realistic expectations, is that there is no such thing as perfect or permanent results. Most of these treatments are done in a series of consecutive appointments. And, while some hairs might never come back after that series is done, some will. But no matter what you should have to shave or wax far less often once you undergo those appointments.

Blogmas ¦ Day 20 - Prairie Charms stocking stuffers box.

When I saw the tweets about the prairie charms stocking stuffer I knew I needed to get myself one. I received six beautiful festive bits and bobs which I really love. I received two pieces of jewellery, three hair accessories and a little print. Everything came so cutely wrapped in festive paper. I think my favourite piece has to be the little ginger bread man necklace which is just so cute.

I'm also super excited to give the hair bands a go as I've wanted to try these kind of hairbands for ages as I hate it when hair bands leaves kinks in my hair. I especially love the glittery one it's so pretty. I'm also super excited to put the print up and surround it by lots of polaroid's.

Have you guys got anything from Prairie charms? I have now decided I want everything.

Blogmas ¦ Day 19 - Urban Decay Moondust shadow - Cosmic

So it's only taken me about 9 months to review this product as I received it for my birthday but when I was brainstorming post ideas for blogmas  I decided this was actually the perfect time to review it. I mean who doesn't love a bit of glitter for the festive season.

I'm just going to start with how pretty this product is, it is a mainly whit glitter however it has flecks of various different coloured glitters although the swatch below doesn't do it as much justice as it deserves. Although in the swatch it looks like the glitter is suspended in a white powder however it is just the glitter so it's perfect for putting on top of other shadows. I also love wearing it over a very neutral shade so it's pretty much pure glitter and then I pop on some lots of mascara and some lashes.

Lasting power wise due to it being a glitter it sticks around for about 8 hours when paired with the Urban Decay Primer potion. I must mention that there is quite a bit of fallout which comes from this shadow so I always make sure to apply it before foundation. I will also just say the I'm personally not a fan of the packaging. It isn't as secure as I'd like it to be and I also find that as they are made to go in the UD version of a build your own palette they pop out of the outer packaging very easily so they aren't great for just chucking in a makeup bag.

So as usual with all of Urban Decays products I am so impressed with this product and I'd highly recommend it if you are looking for a little bit of glitter in your life.
