Rimmel Stay matte liquid lipsticks

Every band seem to have a range of liquid lipsticks these days and Rimmel are no stranger to that. With their provacalips being some of my favourite liquid lips (I must note they are not matte on initial application only once worn for a couple of hours). I was incredibly excited to give the new Stay matte liquid lips a go however I have to say some of the shades didn't quite hit my expectations.

In terms of the shades I have I love four of them but two have left me disappointed and unfortunately they are the two I was hoping I would love. Starting off with the packaging I like it. I prefer being able to see the actual product in the tube so I know exactly what shade it is. Applicator wise they have a large doe foot. I personally find it a little too big for my cupids bow and I have to be really careful with it to avoid the duck lips look.

Moving onto the shades I have, first is Latte to go which is the most stunning peachy concealer lip shade which I am super into at the moment. Unfortunately this is one of the shades I don't look. the formula is mousse like and thick but still seems to lack a little opacity which when I am going for a shade this light is not something I want. I also find this shade doesn't wear as nice as the other five and at the end of the day just looks patchy and messy.

Next up is Blush which is my favourite shade out of the six I have. It's just the perfect everyday mauve pink shade and is one I have been wearing a lot. The texture of this one is a lot less mousse like and I think for me that makes this shade more enjoyable to wear as it wears evenly like I would expect from a liquid lipstick of this nature.

Next up is Rose and shine which is basically just a slightly deeper and a little more pink than Blush. For me I would reach for this one more in the summer as it is that more pink tone however I have worn it a couple of times and really love the colour it almost reminds me of Jeffree star Rose matter which is one of my favourite more summery shades. In terms of the formula this one is the same as Blush.

Another with the same formula is Coral sass which as the name may suggest is a coral shade. This is a fairly muted peachy coral and again is another perfect summer colour. Again this one is very comfortable and wears evenly even though it is a little brighter than the other two colours.

The final shade I really like is Fire starter. This is a stunning very true red shade which is incredibly opaque on the lips straight away. This has the same very thin less mousse like texture and is probably the one which sets the most matte meaning it really lasts beautifully. Even though it does set incredibly matte it is still very comfortable and is just overall a really cracking red liquid lip.

Finally we are ending on a little more of a negative note, Blue iris has the potential to be such a gorgeous shade however I just find it has the same formula as Latte to go. it is very thick and not very opaque meaning it just doesn't sit well on the lips. I also find out of the six this is definitely the one which wears the worst which is such a shame as it is the most gorgeous purple toned navy blue.

I feel like overall these are a super mixed bag in terms of formula and texture. I would suggest if you are going to get them to spend plenty of time testing out the formulas on the back of the hand in store and making sure you are happy with the opacity and texture.

My Third attempt at bullet journaling - Going back to basis

I love the idea of bullet journaling but I definitely felt the pressure to make it look super pretty however this time around I'm going to keep it a little simpler and a lot easier for me to keep up with and use. As with my other bullet journals I have used Pinterest to find some page ideas but I have mostly been focusing on using the original creator of the bullet journal as well as Lily pebbles blog and youtube videos about her journal.

I wanted to mainly focus on my blog and youtube content in this planner, however I have got all the basic yearly and weekly overviews. I decided to skip out on the monthly overview as I found it was something in my other planners I wasn't using. I also decided to record my stats however went for monthly rather than weekly as I figured it would give me a better overview.

So without further ado here are some shots of the pages I currently have in my new minimalistic planner, I'd love to know what's in yours and if you've ever thought about giving a bullet journal a go!

Jeffree star Velour liquid lipstick collection

I know some people aren't a fan of Jeffree star but I personally really love his liquid lipsticks. I find them to vary in formula however I love both the thinner and thicker textures. In my collection I don't have any shades which I really dislike however there are some with minor issues however I will go more in-depth in the shade descriptions. The doe foot on these is my absolute favourite, it is one of the dipped applicators meaning that they just fit on the lip so well and make applying super bright and out there shades neatly without a liner underneath.

Moving onto the shades, I am going to be going from the bottom to the top of the swatches -

714 (Limited edition Summer 16) - This shade is so bright and something I got a lot of wear out of when I had a tan. It is a white based neon pinky coral which is ever so slightly patchy however it isn't bad considering it's a very heavily white based shade.

Androgyny (Permanent) - I feel like this is one of the cult shades from Jeffree star. It's a gorgeous deep purple toned nude and is one of my favourite shades to pair with a glam makeup look as it isn't too much or too little.

Anna Nicole (Permanent) - I bet we can all guess why I bought this shade. It is a stunning slightly orange toned red and is just so gorgeous especially on my super pale skin.

Butt Naked (Limited edition Summer 17) - This is the most gorgeous very orange toned concealer lip shade. Personally I love a good concealer lip with heavy eye makeup and this is one of the LE shades I hope is made permanent.

Blue Velvet (Permanent) - This is a stunning true blue shade which I absolutely love wearing with a simple makeup look. I don't really know what else to say about this other than it is gorgeous.

Calabasas (Limited edition Summer 17) - This is another of my favourite shades from the Summer collection. It is a deep rosy nude shade which is going to be so perfect for autumn.

Candy Ass (Limited edition Summer 17) - This is a metallic almost rose gold shade which is perfect if you want a nude shade but still want it to be bold this is the perfect shade to go for.

Celebrity skin (Permanent) - This is a go to basic nude shade for me, it's warm toned pinky nude which for me is the perfect nude. It's pretty much the darker version of I'm nude which is another one of my favourites.

Checkmate (Limited edition - Christmas 16) - This is the most beautiful  red shade, I feel like this was the perfect shade for a Christmas range and I have got so much wear out of it even over the summer.

Crocodile tears (Recently made permanent) - This shade is actually extremely wearable despite the fact that it is a super deep green shade. It is such an amazing shade for autumn and I will get so much wear out of it.

Daddy (Limited edition Manny MUA collab) - This is such a deep slightly cooler nude shade which I have to say I don't use it as much as I should as I do tend to reach for my more warmer toned shades.

Deceased (Recently made permanent) - This is a purple toned grey shade was a limited edition shade from Christmas 16 however was made permanent and I'm so glad it was as I didn't manage to get my hands on it at Christmas.

Designer blood (Limited edition Christmas 16) - This is a really deep dark red shade which has micro blue reflects in it. On initial application this isn't visible however once the lips are warmed the shimmer becomes more apparent.

Dreamhouse (Permanent) - This is a gorgeous metallic barbie pink shade which makes such a statement especially with it being metallic.

Drug Lord (Permanent) - This is the best shade for mixing obviously on its own it is pretty patchy on the lips however you can build it up if you want to wear on its own.

Family Jewels (Limited edition Summer 17)  - This is a very deep autumnal slightly purple toned brown which is going to be so perfect for this time of year.

Flamboyant (Limited edition Summer 17) - This is a bright coral shade with some shimmer in it. This  feels so comfortable on the lips and isn't glittery like some metallics can be.

Flamethrower (Permanent) - This is a super bright orange shade which does happen to make my teeth look a bit gross however I still love it.

Gemini - (Permanent) - This is a gorgeous pink toned deep nude, this is one of my go to shades as it is just a super simple lip shade.

Hunty (Limited edition Summer 17) - This is a pale orange toned nude shade which is gorgeous with a really dark smokey eye.

I'm nude (Permanent) - This is another concealer nude shade, this is a much more pink toned shade than Hunty and again is amazing to pair with a smokey eye.

I'm shook (Limited edition Manny MUA collab) - This is a gorgeous terracotta orange coral nude shade, it is so gorgeous and one I really wish was permanent.

Leo (Permanent) - This is like the darker version of Gemini again it's another one of my go to shades from my collection.

Masochist (Permanent) - Masochist is a gorgeous deep raspberry pink. This isn't a shade I reach for a lot but it's one that every time I wear it I absolutely love it.

Nude beach (Limited edition Summer 16) - This is a very white toned orange peach shade which is a little patchy however with a second layer.

Posh spice (Permanent) - This one is such a cool toned nude shade and is one of the very few shades I almost slightly regret buying for me I just find cool toned shades don't work for my very pale skin.

Queen Supreme (Permanent) - This is a very purple toned pink shade and I love it. This is a slightly white based shade so can be a little bit patchy but it is worth building up as it is gorgeous.

Rose Matter (Permanent) - When I initially purchased this I expected it to be more nude however it came and it was a much more rosy shade as the name may suggest.

Sagittarius (Permanent) - I find this is actually quite similar to deceased. It is darker and a little more purple.

Venus Fly trap (Limited edition Summer 17) - This shade is the most ridiculous shade but at the same time I kind of love it. It's the most crazy lime shade which isn't the most wearable but makes an impressive liner.

Virginity (Limited edition Summer 16) - The final white toned shade this is a lilac shade again a little patchy but a lovely really different shade none the less.

Watermelon Soda (Limited edition Summer 16) - This is one of my favourites a super bright pink shade, I also wore this on my 18th birthday so it has a special place in my heart.

Weirdo (Permanent) - This one is a super deep black with an incredibly opaque formula.

You better work (Limited edition Summer 17) - Finally this shade is a very bright orchid purple shade which I really love.

So that's it for today I would love to know what Jeffree star hippies you have in your collection!

Five favourites - Urban decay

So the last time I did one of these five favourites it seemed to go down really well so I thought I would do another one. Today I am talking about one of my favourite brands of all time which is Urban Decay.

So first off I had to mention the Urban Decay Naked foundation which is one of my all time favourite foundations. I do also love the concealer so I'm not really sure why I haven't mentioned it in this post. This foundation is a gorgeous it looks incredibly natural on the skin and has a really gorgeous glow finish. It makes my skin look so healthy and doesn't cling to any dry patches which is a huge problem I have with foundations. Even though this is super glowy it lasts beautifully on my skin and offers a really natural looking medium coverage till the end of the day.

Something I feel like everyone loves from Urban Decay is the All nighter setting spray. This is amazing for both taking away any cakiness from my skin but also to make sure that my makeup is going to stay on all day. Out of all the setting sprays I own this is 100% one of my favourites and is something I use multiple times a week!

I do love Urban Decay's Naked palettes however the palette I wanted to mention is the Moondust palette which is the most beautiful pressed glitter palette. The moondust shadows are most definitely my favourite pressed glitters. The swatch below is of Element which is one of the more saturated colours in the palette whereas some of the shades from this range which are more of a glitter. I absolutely love this palette, I just think it is perfect to add something a little sparkly to a look.

The Afterglow blushes are my favourite high end blushes, they are so incredibly pigmented but are still incredibly easy to blend. Having super pale skin I tend to struggle with a lot of the highly pigmented blushes as they just look too much on me but as these are so blendable I can both build and sheer them out. They also come in a huge range of shades so if you are on the lookout for some new blushes I would definitely recommend these.
Indecent, Fetish, Sin, Afterglow, Element.
Finally I have the Afterglow highlighters, these are incredible. They are highly pigmented and super metallic but they don't pick up on any skin texture which is the biggest issue I have as I have some very obvious pores on my cheeks. If you are into the super metallic highlights then I would definitely recommend you give these a go. The only thing I don't like about these is that there are only two shades available in most places, (I do believe there is a third but you can't purchase it from many places) I am seriously praying that they introduce some more shades because I love them.

So that's it for today I'd love to know what your favourites are from Urban Decay.

Anastasia subculture - Reviewed and swatched

Oh this palette has kicked up a stink. To be quite honest just to get this our the way I love it and I have seen a lot of other bloggers I follow enjoy it too. I do think that this palette has issues however I think the craziness surrounding it is a little crazy. The shades are super pigmented meaning that there is more fallout than normal, that being said as long as you are careful with them they aren't as bad as some are making out. The biggest issue for me has been that the shimmery shades have sealed which really annoys me as they are so gorgeous, I definitely feel like you really have to dig into the pan which isn't ideal. I feel like this palette is definitely the perfect halo eye palette as it has the pops of metallic and then mostly matte shades which is personally what I want in a shadow palette. So without further ado lets move onto the shades.

Cube - This is the only highlighting shade in the palette it is one of the three metallic shades. It is a very icy white with a pink/lilac reflect in it. This one looks incredible in the inner corners for a really bright highlight however if you want to reach for something more subtle you will need to go for another palette.

Dawn - This is my transition shade in the palette, it is a little darker than my skin tone with a more yellow undertone. This one builds beautifully in the crease and is a shade I reach for every time I use the palette.

Destiny - This one is a Khaki green shade which looks really lovely as a slight deepening shade in a green look or a darker transition shade. I would definitely say out of all the shadows this is definitely one of the shades which has the most fallout.

Adorn - Another of the metallic shades, I feel like out of the three this one seems to have sealed a lot less than the other two. This is a gorgeous copper gold colour which looks insane in the centre of the lid when I do a halo eye.

All star - I know a lot of people have had a lot of trouble with this shade in terms of the blending however I find I have no issues. I feel like this is just my kind of shade and I have been using it a lot. It is a very warm brown even though it looks more pink in the pan I find once on the lid it is definitely more of a brown.

Mercury - This is a very cool toned green/grey shade, this one is a good shade to reduce the warmth of some of the yellows however I find if I'm not careful this can make a look incredibly muddy as it is a muddy colour in itself I think out of the palette this is one of the shades I try and avoid.

Axis - This is the other shade in the palette that I tend to avoid as the fall out is completely insane. Fallout doesn't bother me normally however with this being a deep blue green when it falls under the eyes it stains the skin only adding to my dark circles. (Which are 100% bad enough by themselves)

Roxy - This is one of my favourite shades in the palette it is a gorgeous pastel orange shade which makes a gorgeous transition for deeper looks and a really lovely crease shade for a lighter look.

Electric - This is another favourite out of the palette, it makes the most amazing centre to a blue toned look. This is the third and final metallic shade and is probably the one that is sealed the worst which is typical as it is one of my favourite shades.

Fudge - This is the most basic neutral shade in the palette. I know a lot of people rave about this shade and I can see why. It is just a really lovely basic shade and is one I actually reach for when I am using other palettes and shadows too.

New wave - This is a stunning deep mustard shade which is perfect for anyone who really loves warmer eyeshadow shades. This is another of the incredibly dusty shades, however it isn't as much of an issue with this one as it doesn't stain my under eyes like axis does.

Untamed - I prefer to use this shade than axis. It isn't quite as bright however it doesn't have the crazy fallout so unless I do my eyes before my base this is the shade I reach for if I want green.

Edge - This shade is more of a true yellow than New wave and is much less orange toned. I actually really love this over the lid with rowdy in the crease for something a little different but also kind of neutral.

Rowdy - The final shade is a purple brown shade. This is amazing to deepen the crease and outer v for pretty much any look I can create with this palette. This is another one which the fallout is quite intense however it isn't on the same league as axis.

So that's it. I'd love to know what your opinions are on this palette if you have it and if you are wondering about buying it let me know!

The drugstore neutral look

Now I get I'm kind of behind with the whole neutral look as this probably would be more suited to back to school however I thought I would share it with you anyway as I really love all of these products.

So for foundation I absolutely love the Maybelline Dream satin liquid. This is the most gorgeous satin (as you may have guessed) finish foundation. It looks so flawless on the skin and looks beautifully natural on the skin. If any of you are on the lookout for a natural foundation for school this is the perfect one and I feel like it would work beautifully for all skin types. Concealer wise I really love the Essence Camouflage concealer. This one works nicely both under the eyes and on any blemishes. Although it is very thick and high coverage it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and sits beautifully even on my dry skin.

For the rest of the face I've been loving Soap and glory's Solar powder, this is a split pan bronzer with a deeper and a lighter shade. I tend to do a pretty even swirl in the pan and I just love the way it looks. It has a very slight radiance to it meaning it just makes the skin look so healthy. For blush I have a classic, I feel like Rimmel Santa rose is one of the products everyone has tried. It is a really pretty peachy shade with a slight sheen again like the bronzer giving the skin a healthy glow. For the everyday I don't tend to reach for a bright highlight I prefer something more glowy like the Maybelline master strobe liquid in the light shade. This is a really lovely pinky glowy product which just makes the most beautiful glow to the skin.

For brows I have been using the the NYX micro brow pencil which is really lovely for a natural but polished brow. I always set my brow with something and I really like the New look brow gel which is incredibly similar to the Benefit Gimme brow. For eyes I have pulled out a long time favourite which is the gorgeous Maybelline colour tattoo in On and on bronze which is a lovely Champagne bronze shade perfect to add a little colour to the lid. Finally to finish off I have been obsessed with the L'oreal Paradise mascara which is the best drugstore mascara I have ever tried. It is so lengthening and just makes the lashes look so gorgeous and fluttery.

So that's it for today. I'd love to know what your go to budget products are for a neutral look.

My current favourite foundation - YSL Touche éclat

So if you are a regular reader you will know I have been searching for the best foundation for my skin type (Which is super super dry if you don't already know). On my search a lot of my favourite bloggers and vloggers who have a similar skin type to me seem to love the YSL Touche éclat so I decided to give it a go.

This is the most glorious dewy foundation, it doesn't stick to any dry patches and sits so beautifully on my dry skin. In terms of the finish this is dewy however it isn't the most dewy foundation I have ever tried which I prefer as t almost feels like it sets down a little better. I find a lot of foundations seem to be drunk up by my skin however I find this sits nicely and isn't drunk up. In terms of lasting power as it isn't drunk by my skin I find it lasts incredibly well getting over 8 hours wear out of it before it starts to feel a little dry.

I love the packaging as it is super simplistic and I feel it just reflects the class of YSL. If you are a regular reader you will probably realise that this looks a lot darker than most of the foundations I buy,  this shade is BD10 which is the lightest shade and it is definitely too dark for me. It is also fairly yellow toned so it can look a little orange on my pale skin if I don't make sure it is blended well down my neck.

I'd love to know if you have given this a go and what you think of it.

Androgyny vs Subculture - Are they really dupes?

The Subculture palette - a controversial palette - Jeffree star - a controversial man.
Its almost as though the dupe is meant to be, this has been floating round the blogosphere recently and today I thought I would do an in depth post so that we can settle this once and for all.

In terms of the formula, the Jeffree star ones are definitely pressed harder so are much less powdery. The metallics in the Jeffree star are also much smoother and creamy and don't seal once used like the Anastasia ones do which is my main issue with the subculture palette.

First off we have the shades Safe word from androgyny and the shade mercury from the Subculture. Safe word is a much lighter transition shade whilst mercury is a much deeper mushroom shade. I use safe word as a transition whereas from me mercury is definitely a crease and deepening shade.

Next up is the three oranges in the palettes. First off we have Edge which is a fairly grey toned mustard shade, then we have New wave which is a very orange shade both from the Subculture palette. Then we have Charm from the Androgyny palette which is almost a balance between the two shades in the subculture palette.

These two shades are probably the two most different from the palette but I thought I would include them anyway. We have De Ja vu from the Androgyny which is a gorgeous red copper shade whilst Adorn from Subculture is a much more golden metallic shade.

Here we have Domanatrix which is a gorgeous purple toned brown shade against Fudge which is a much more true brown shade.

These are All star which is a deep burgundy pink toned shade, Rowdy is a deeper purple with a little less red in it these shades are both from Subculture then we have Androgyny from the Androgyny palette which is a much lighter true purple shade.

Here we have Military from the Androgyny which is a light khaki green shade and then we have Destiny from Subculture which is a much much deeper and more grey toned green shade.

Here we have Untamed from Subculture which is a very deep blue shade and Poison from Androgyny as you can see in the swatches it is less pigmented and a lot more green toned than untamed.

Finally we have Swallow from the Androgyny palette which is a stunning very true deep blue and then we have Axis which is a more green toned again.

So as you can see from the swatches I really don't think these palettes are dupes. Don't get me wrong they are similar but I do generally think that there are perks to having both of the palettes.

The coppery red smokey eye

You all know that I am obsessed with warm shadows if you are regular readers. I recently picked up the Juvias place Nubian palette which is just so beautiful. I've been using it to create a gorgeous red toned smokey eye and I am so in love with it.

For the look I've been using the lift and laminate foundation from No7 which is a gorgeous medium coverage satin type foundation which is perfect on my dry skin. I actually put up a full review a couple of days ago so if you want to see a little more it's //Here//. Concealer wise the Clarins instant concealer is my favourite. It's super high coverage but it feels so lightweight on my skin. I make sure I'm really careful with my concealer when I'm doing a super red smokey eye making sure to conceal any redness around my eyes. Then for the rest of my face I've been using the L'oreal Glam bronzer which is a very affordable dupe for Nars Laguna.

For blush I have been using Mac Fleur power as it just adds a really natural flush to the cheeks and ties in with the red in the eyeshadow without looking too much. Then to tie in with the eye look I've been using Urban Decay Fireball which is a stunning peachy pink shade which is just so beautiful on the cheeks. For my brows I have been using my usual which is the Anastasia Dip brow pomade.

For my eyes I've been using one of the lighter matte shades in the Juvias place palette for my transition shade and then using one of the red shades all over the lid. Finally to build up the crease a little I've been using one of the darker shades in my crease and outer v to really smoke up the look. I am obsessed with the L'oreal Paradise mascara which everyone else seems to be obsessed with too. It is so fluttery and gorgeous. Finally I have been using Mac Boldly bare lip pencil and Yash lipstick for the perfect peachy nude shade.

Jouer Long wear Lip cremes

So I feel like these are everywhere at the moment and I was so happy to find that Beauty bay now stock them. Now my rule when I buy lip products is normally to buy a nude and a deeper shade but after seeing all the gorgeous nudes I couldn't resist picking two of them up, and I will definitely want to expand my collection in the future.

These are incredibly comfortable on the lips, even applying smoothly when my lips aren't in the best condition. In terms of layering it isn't perfect however they layer the best out of all the liquid lipsticks I have tried. Lasting power wise I wouldn't say they were the most long lasting however I do get a good 4 hours out of them without any fading however after this point they do begin to move from the inner perimeter of the lips. They also deal pretty well with food just wearing in the middle slightly. However anything oily will move these significantly and will need reapplying.

Left Buff and Right Terra

The shades I picked up where Buff and Terra. Buff is a gorgeous really pale pinky nude. I love this one, it's almost a concealer lip but I really love it. The other shade Terra is a deeper more orange based nude almost terracotta hence the name. Despite it having the orange in it it still has that hint of pink in it.  These do have a really delicious sweet scent so depending on whether you are into that or not. For me this is a definite bonus. These have a standard doe foot applicator which although I prefer the likes of Dose of colours and Jeffree star I am fine with the way these are shaped. They are quite small meaning that you can get a really accurate application which I love.

Overall I really love these and would highly recommend you give them a go.

No7 Lift and luminate foundation

When it comes to foundations I have two people who I will always trust their recommendations. The first is Jamie Paige and the second one is Kathleen lights. This foundation came as a recommendation from Kathleen and as expected I absolutely love it.

For a drugstore foundation this isn't the cheapest coming in at £16.50 however I would say it is worth the splurge if you have dry skin. First off I love the packaging as it has one of those pumps which pushes up the product so none gets wasted which I love. I find that it is super sleek and I also like the fact the packaging is plastic as it means when I am traveling and I don't have to worry about it. The texture feels quite thick which isn't like a lot of the foundations for dry skin.

This means that it offers a really high coverage which again is something that you don't come across very often. The finish on the skin is a more satiny finish than I would normally go for however I really love it. This doesn't fall into any lines under my eyes or any patches of drier skin. Colour wise this one is the shade Calico which is a little more yellow than I would normally go for however I believe this is the lightest in the line and the shade above was too dark. That being said it hasn't put me off using it as it looks stunning on my skin.

Overall I am obsessed with this foundation and I would highly recommend it for anyone with a more drier skin type.

Highlighters for Snow White skin

So you might not have noticed but I am actually paler than casper the ghost meaning a lot of highlighter shades don't work on me. I often look like I have a really beautiful stripe of colour which lets face it is never a good luck. Today I thought I would show some of my favourites so if you are pale skinned you can see if any of these will work for you.

Benefit Watts up - This is one for if you want something a little bit easier to wear and that isn't so blinding. Watts up is a gorgeous champagne cream which is a nice as it gives us pale people the ability to wear a little bit of gold on the face. I find a lot of cream highlighters have a lot of glitter in them however this one hasn't which is something I love about it. I also find this one looks gorgeous as a base for a powder highlight.

Urban Decay Afterglow highlights in Fireball and sin - Fireball is the darkest shade I am going to mention today. It is a gorgeous pink with a gold shift, despite this looking super dark in the swatch it is now way this dark which makes me super glad I didn't going into store as I don't think I would have picked it up. The other shade is sin which is probably the best if you aren't a fan of a coloured highlight. Sin is very similar in colour to Watts up and looks incredible over the top of it. It also looks super intense and gorgeous by itself.

Watts up, Fireball, Sin, Dandelion, Charming pink, Snow rose.
Benefit Dandelion twinkle - I love dandelion blush so was very intrigued when this was released and super glad it actually matched my skin tone. This is a gorgeous pale pink shade. It looks incredibly natural on the cheeks and just adds the most stunning healthy glow to the skin. I think on many people this would actually be to light but for me it's perfect.

Laura Geller Charming pink - I feel like everyone talks about Gilded honey but on me I find it to be too dark on me. I love the formula however so I figured I would give another shade a go. Charming pink is a gorgeous pale pink shade, this one is definitely a more intense highlight than dandelion but it is a very similar shade.

NYX Snow rose - This is one of the duo chrome highlights from NYX, it is a beautiful duo chrome gold and pink shade. In the sun this one reflects a peach pink but as you can see in the swatch it looks super gold on camera. I am normally not a fan of drugstore highlights as I find they often breakdown and just leave you with a strip of glitter on the face which is not what I want.

So that's it for today I would love to know what your favourite highlights are and what skin tone you have!

Five faves - Benefit

So I've decided I am going to start a new little series on y blog where I show you my favourite products from some of my favourite brands. Today I thought I would kick the series off with benefit. I feel like currently they are completely killing it with the new launches and I cannot wait to give some of their new concealers a go. Now I know that some people will class the boxed powders as one range however I have split them up into individual products.

So first off I feel like it wouldn't be a Benefit post without mentioning some of their brow products, since the relaunch I feel like they have become known for the brow products they do. Starting off with Gimme brow I had to include this as it is something I have used everyday for about three years this is actually my third tube and it is just about to run out. I love this one to just add a little more texture to the brows after pomade but it is also fab just to add some colour to the brows on a no makeup day.

The other brow product I wanted to mention is the precisely my brow pencil. This one is super thin and reminds me a lot of my beloved Smashbox brow tech matte pencil. I tend to prefer a smaller brow pencil as I find I can make the brows look really natural. I have both the brow products in Number 5 which is the perfect ashy deep brown shade perfect for dark brunettes who prefer a more ashy brow.

Moving onto the powders I wanted to mention my three favourites. First off we have the Hoola bronzer which is something I have been obsessed with and is one of the only bronzers I have ever hit pan on. It is a really beautiful neutral tone meaning it doesn't make the skin look ashy or orange. It blends into the skin beautifully meaning it is perfect for us pale gals.

Gimme brow, Brow pencil, Hoola, Galifornia, Dandelion twinkle
The fourth product is the Galifornia blush. For a start this one smells like coconuts so that gets a tick for me. This is a really beautiful pinky coral shade which I have worn so much over the summer. It doesn't have loads of shimmer like loads of summery pinky coral blushes seem too but it isn't completely matte. It has a beautifully healthy sheen to it and just makes the skin look incredibly healthy and glowy. It did initially have a gold glitter overspray on it however this isn't carried through the entire product so it is definitely less sheeny after a couple of uses.

Finally my fifth product is the Dandelion twinkle highlight. I love Dandelion blush which is a really subtle pink but I love this even more, this is one of those highlights which is definitely more on the subtle side. A lot like the blush it has a gorgeous glow to it however it doesn't look metallic on the cheeks so it is definitely one that I reach for on a work day as it isn't too intense but does still add some sheen.

Close misses today have to be the They're real mascara which I must have used at least 5 of and the Professional primer both of which I haven't got in my collection currently (which ti be honest is the biggest reason they didn't end upon here)

I'd love to know what your favourites from Benefit are?
