The most contriversial liquid lipsticks

In the past few months Jeffree Star has definitely made a huge amount of drama, whether you love him or hate him no one can deny there is a huge amount of hype around his velour liquid lipsticks so today I thought I would share my personal opinions with you. I currently have four shades, two from his permanent range and two from his limited edition Christmas range which I'm pretty sure are still in stock on Beauty bay for any UK buyers. I have to say I find these are incredibly inconsistent in formula out of the four I have I wouldn't say any of them were the same. I absolutely love the applicator on these as it is curved making it really easy to get a clean and neat application. I would definitely say you need well prepped lips for these and as long as they are not too dry they can look incredible, so without further ado lets get into the colours.

Starting off with my favourite shade we have Androgyny, this is one of the shades in the permanent line and for me this is the perfect dark nude shade. It has a good balance of brown and pink meaning it doesn't lean too bright or too vampy and it is honestly one I have got so much use out of. Formula wise this is a much more mousey texture than the other three. It is a little thicker meaning it is more opaque and I find this one to have a good 7-8 hours wear time.

The other permanent shade I have is Rose matter, this one was a lot pinker when it came than the swatches I'd seen however I have to say it has really grown on me. It's actually quite a bright nude pink and although it's not one I reach for the most often it is something I've been wearing more than I thought I would. Out of the four this one is definitely the thinnest formula and I'm pretty sure if I tipped the tube upside down it would definitely run out. Despite the incredibly thin formula this has a really nice opacity however I do find this one to be the most drying out of the four I have and it's definitely not designed to be layered. Wear time on this one is just under 5 hours before it gets really uncomfortably dry and gross. The one thing I will say about this one is that it is the only shade that has a scent. I think it's meant to smell like root beer but in all honesty to me it just smells like cough syrup.

Sagittarius, Androgyny, Rose matter, Designer blood.
Moving onto the Christmas collection shades first off I have Sagittarius which is an absolutely stunning purple grey shade. What I love about this is even though it has the grey undertones it doesn't make me skin look super sallow and gross. This one is somewhere in between the texture of Rose matter and Androgyny. Not too thick or too thin, it glides on really opaque and sits very comfortably. Wear time for this one is similar to Androgyny and it definitely isn't anywhere near as dry as Rose matter. The final shade I have is Designer blood which is a gorgeous deep red with a very slight amount of teeny tiny blue shimmer particles. I actually find that out of them all this wears the most evenly. Like all liquid lipsticks it does tend to wear within the inner rim of the lips if you are eating or drinking however I find it is definitely the best for lasting on the rest of the lips. I always expect darker liquid lipsticks to be a little bit patchy however I found that this one is beautifully opaque in one swipe of the applicator.

Another Illamasqua sale haul

Note to self : Stop spending.

So I may or may not have made another Illamasqua haul, and today I thought I would show you what I picked up as I got so many bargains. I pretty much only ever buy from Illamasqua when they have a sale as it makes their products so much more affordable. This time I will admit I went a little crazy and picked up a lot of stuff however my order only came to just under £60 which I didn't think was too bad for so many fairly high end products.

So with further ado lets get straight into the products. After trying the sample of the Hydra veil and really loving it I decided to give the Radiance veil a go as it was down to under £10. This looks incredibly intense when it is on the face at first but once any base product goes over it, it gives the most stunning really healthy glow. I would say if you aren't one for a glowy base then this definitely isn't one for you. Also for the face I picked up another one of the cream blushes which are one of my favourite products from the brand. Rude is a stunning coral pink shade which is something I'm going to get so much wear out of this in the Summer. Finally for the face I got one of the gel colour sticks in Fluster which is a super bright pink. Due to the gel formula this works nicely on the lips and the cheeks, it also does mean it isn't quite as bright as it looks. I also find if I want it even less intense it sheers out beautifully.

Fluster, Radiance veil, Rude, Vapour, Moxie, Lust, Feisty, Severity, Wisdom, Vampette,

Moving onto the eyes I picked up the powder shadow in  the shade Vapour which is a orangey mustard shade which I thought would make an incredible transition shade for a warm smokey eye. I really like the quality of Illamasqua shadows and this one is just as high quality. The other thing I picked up for eyes was the liquid liner in the shade Wisdom which is a stunning dark gold shade, I've been really enjoying funky coloured eyeliners recently so I cannot wait to give this a go.

Finally moving onto lips I picked up four more of the lip liners, which I fell in love with after trying one in my last haul. These are really lovely and creamy. I'd say they were somewhere between the Charlotte Tilbury liners and the Mac ones. Meaning that they aren't the most comfortable but they are a little easier to use than the very creamy Charlotte Tilbury ones. These are just a really good buy and for under £5 I really can't complain. The final thing I picked up was one of the Glamore lipsticks in the shade Vampette which is a stunning deep berry colour. I actually probably picked this up at the wrong time of year but it was such a beautiful colour I couldn't resist. I really don't like the matte lipsticks from Illamasqua however these which are the satin formula are absolutely beautiful. Not too matte, not too glossy.

So that's it for today I hope you guys enjoyed this and I would love to know what your favourite thing from Illamasqua is?

NYX Liquid suedes Collection - Review and swatches

Since you guys seemed to enjoy my MUA Velvet lip lacquer post I thought you might enjoy a NYX one. I really love these, they are an incredible formula and are so comfortable. These aren't completely matte and I have heard some people say they don't like them because of that factor however I find I always reach for them when I want a liquid lipstick but my lips are feeling a little more dry than usual. They have a huge variety of shades and I'm pretty sure there is something in the range for everyone. Wear time wise they are all beautiful and wear very similarly and formula wise they are mostly opaque.

First off we have Run the world which is a crazily intense lilac purple shade. This definitely isn't one for the faint hearted but I absolutely adore it. I will say this shade is a slight bit patchier than the rest of the other shades however you can do a couple of layers and it still doesn't feel gross or dry. The other purple shade I have is Subversive socialite which is a stunning deep purple shade. This is such a beautiful dark shade however it does wear a little bit more obviously than the rest of the shades I have.

These two shades look so similar in these two pictures however I can promise they aren't. The first is Vintage which is the more red version of the two, this does remind me of Rimmel 107 with a little more purple in it. The other shade is Club hopper which is much more brown than vintage. Again it is a similar reddy purple winter shade which actually looks a lot darker in person. These both wear so beautifully even though they are such dark shades and they are just perfect for this time of year.

I absolutely love Kitten heels which is a beautiful true red shade. This is one of my latest purchases however I have got so much wear out of it. It was perfect for over the festive season but I also think it is a stunning more everyday red. I also have Jet set which is a pretty brave out there colour. It is the most incredible bright cobalt blue and I actually love it! I wasn't sure how much I would like it but I've actually worn it a lot more than I thought I would.

Stone fox is the most incredible greeny-bluey-gray colour which I love as I find it really makes my eyes pop. I didn't expect to get much wear time out of this however it lasted beautifully. One thing I will say is that I have to be careful what other makeup I wear with it as it can end up making me look a bit grey. Another pretty out there shade is Alien which is a blue toned black shade. I honestly have so many people compliment me every time I wear it. Black is a shade I never thought I would wear however I cannot get enough of it.

Finally we have the two much more nude shades in my collection. My most worn out of all ten I own is definitely Soft spoken which is a stunning mauevy nude, it is slightly grey brown toned which I love. I feel like this is a really grown up nude shade. The last one is Brooklyn thorn which is a really beautiful very grey toned purple nude. Again like Stone fox I have to be careful what other makeup I
wear with it as it can leave me looking a little grey. I think this is perfect if you are wanting to try a more individual nude shade.

Clinque Lip pops in Blush pop and Poppy pop

I bloody love these lip pop lipsticks, I would 100% say that they are one of my all time favourite lipstick formulas. They are glossy but not too glossy meaning they are incredibly comfortable but having the longevity of a matte lipstick. Honestly if I could describe my perfect formula it would be these. Don't get me wrong I do love my matte lipsticks however these are the first thing I reach for when my lips are feeling a little drier than usual. The think I love the most about these is that they are glossy but they don't do the weird thing where they get my hair stuck to them and I end up with tiny lines of lipstick on my face. I'm really hoping somebody gets this because it is literally the worst thing ever.

As so many other bloggers and vloggers do I really love any packaging that shows what colour the lipstick is clearly. I think this is super sleek but the colour makes them a little bit more fun and they just look absolutely stunning lined up next to each other. (Has a more blogger sentence ever been said)

Blush Pop, Poppy pop

Moving onto the shades, Blush pop is a really stunning muted pinky nude shade which is honestly just that perfect throw on not too nude but not to pink shade. I have worn this so much since I picked it up at the end of December and I can see it becoming one of my staple shades. The other shade I have is Poppy pop which for me is the perfect summer shade, it is an incredibly orange toned red which I pretty much wore constantly in the summer and every time I wore it in a video I had so many compliments. I have been searching for a comfy orange red for so long and I think the glossiness of this just makes it even more summery.

MUA Luxe Glow beam highlighters

I honestly cannot praise these two products enough, I do find budget highlighters can very often emphasise texture on the face and in my case that is definitely something I need to avoid. I've seen these products being mentioned a lot since the release and I have to say curiosity got the better of me and I had to give them a go. I hadn't actually given in to the cushion product hype before I picked this up however my general attitudes with crazy hype is to let it die down a little and see if people are still talking about things. However people are still going on about them and I finally gave in and I have to say I do like the concept. It's clean and easy and it means that you get the exact amount of product that you want.

The cushion highlight is a darker gold shade than the powder however it blends into even my incredibly pale skin like an absolute dream. It is a gorgeous warm gold with a slight luminescence which just gives the skin a beautiful healthy glow. This is something that is perfect to wear alone on minimal makeup up days but it is also perfect for using under a powder highlight. I really love this product now but I feel like I'm going to love it even more in the summer.

Moving onto the powder, which is honestly one of the strangest packaged highlighters I have ever seen. You twist the lid and it shaves off a little bit of the product leaving you with a very fine dusting of powder. As it is shaved off like this it means it is basically impossible to overdo it as it is a beautiful fine powder. This is a beautiful pale gold which when paired with the cushion highlight gives the perfect mix of paleness and bronziness. What I love about this is that it isn't glittery like a lot of drugstore highlights it is just so beautiful and again like the cream gives the skin a beautiful healthy glow. One thing I will say however is that the lid on this isn't the most secure so I would definitely recommend avoiding taking it on any bumpy journeys.

I really love these two products and at £5 each I really can't complain I think these are both incredible products and I would happily pay more for them! I'm just hoping they are going to expand the shade range and bring out a pink!

The best sparkly palette ever

I am so late on the band wagon with this one as per usual but can we just take a moment to appreciate that this palette is glittery both inside and out. I wasn't going to bother reviewing it as it was basically the only palette people talked about at one point however I just loved it so much I had to mention it in case of some of you have been living under a rock and haven't seen anything about this palette.

This palette contains 8 of the Moondust shadows, which for £35 isn't too bad especially for me who wouldn't buy some of the shades in full size however it is nice to have then in my collection. The outer packaging of this product is just absolutely stunning. The casing feels incredibly hardy and like it would withstand travelling well. I of course also absolutely love the glittery packaging.

Inside the palette you get a nice large mirror as you do with the majority of Urban Decay palettes. In terms of size this was actually a little smaller than I imagined but for me that really isn't a problem as I just think it makes it more convenient for travel. In terms of the formula I already knew I loved it. These shadows are basically just pressed glitters and once on the lids they add a slight hint of the base colour but nothing major. One thing I would say with these is it is definitely best to apply them before applying any base product as they do have some fallout as with any other glitter shadow does. In terms of lasting power I find these last nicely. Some glitters can fall into the crease very quickly however these remain fully intact for a good 8 hours before they begin to move about.

The first shade in the palette is Specter which is the most beautiful duo chrome peachy pink colour. This is definitely my favourite shade out of the palette. It looks absolutely beautiful pressed over anything however my favourite way to wear it is pressed over a pink eyeshadow look. Next up we have Element which I feel like is such a me shade. It is a stunning burnt orange shade which looks incredible pressed over any warm toned looks. It is also absolutely perfect to top coppers with to give them more warmth. Next up is Magnetic which is a deep grey based purple shade. Again  this looks beautiful with a pink eye look but also adds a little edge to a purple smokey eye. The final shade on the top row is Lightyear, I think this is the only shade in the palette that I probably not going to touch. Although it is a gorgeous jade green shade I'm just not quite sure I'm brave enough.

First up on the top row we have Granite out of all 8 of the shade this is the one with the strongest base colour it is a deep charcoal grey base with a silver glitter. I absolutely love adding this one over the top of a smokey eye to make it super dramatic. The most neutral shade in the palette is Lithium this is a really pretty brown and gold glitter which just adds a little bit of something to an otherwise neutral look. Another super bright one is Vega I absolutely love blue eyeshadow pressed under the waterline and the sparkle just makes it even more fabulous. This isn't quite a bright cobalt blue but it isn't quite a baby blue either. If you are a fan of a pop of colour on the waterline this is perfect. The final shade in the palette is Galaxy which is another stunning blue shade. This one is much closer to a navy with lots of blue and silver sparkle. Again another fab one to pop on top of a smokey eye to add a bit of a twist.

December Makeup

This post was so difficult to write, I feel like December is a difficult month to pin down what makeup I used as it involves lots of new makeup and so many party looks. Today I thought I would show you a look that is somewhere in the middle. There's a little bit of glitter but nothing too dramatic so without further ado I hope you enjoy.

Starting off I have the Clarins Instant light perfecting primer in 01, this is actually a little bit of a cheat product as I haven't been using it long however I know I'm going to be obsessed with it. It is a beautiful radiance primer however it isn't shimmery like so many others are. This just adds a beautiful dewiness to the skin and is perfect for any fellow dry skinned gals. Foundation wise again I've been reaching for my Bourjois Healthy mix serum a lot, this is just the best drugstore foundation I have found for my skin it sits beautifully and doesn't highlight any of the ridiculous amount of dry patches I currently have. Concealer wise for under my eyes I have been using the Bourjois Radiance reveal which is a really pretty light reflecting concealer and then on any redness and blemishes I've been using my trusty Clarins Instant light concealer. To add some colour I have as usual been using my Benefit Hoola bronzer I'm not going to go on about it again but if you are pale them you need this in your life.

I've actually been doing a little bit of contouring this month and I've been loving using the NYX HD blush in the shade Taupe which is one of my favourite shades of contour on my pale skin. Highlight wise I've been using a duo from L'Oreal first of I have been putting a little bit of the True match liquid highlight in Icy glow on top of the cheek bones and then I have been setting that all with a little bit of the powder in the same shade. Finally for my face I've been finishing it off with a little bit of the Soap and glory Peach party blush. Moving onto the eyes as usual I've been using the Urban Decay primer potion as per usual, then I've been using Illamasqua's Vital palette which is the perfect everyday matte palette. If I have been wanting a little bit of sparkle I have just been patting the Urban Decay Moondust shadow in cosmic all over the lid. Mascara wise I've been using the Soap and Glory Thick and fast extra collagen mascara.

To finish of the look I've been using the Milani Amore lip cream in the shade Adorable which is just the most stunning nude shade which I am absolutely head over heels in love with and that's it. I really hope you guys enjoyed this post and I would love you to let me know in the comments what you have been using the most this month.

Illamasqua Sale haul

Today I thought I would show you what I picked up in the Illamasqua Sale haul. I always end up buying some bits when there sales go live as they are always such good deals and it is definitely hard to pass up on them.

The first thing I picked out was one of their Christmas sets, now this actually came in a really pretty holographic butterfly box however because I can't work a camera the photos came out super blurry and I'd put the box in the bin by the time I realised. However this set came with the Glamore lipstick in the shade Starkers which is a beautiful orangey nude shade it also contained a matching lip pencil in the shade Woo which is almost identical to the shade of the lip pencil and finally a lip lure in the shade Bloom which is a much lighter much more baby pink. This is like a cross between a liquid lipstick and a gloss and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. It is a beautiful colour but the formula is quite sticky. This was a bargain and in the end it only cost me £20.00.

The next thing I picked up was another of their eyeshadow quads, these are usually £34.00 but I ended up paying only £10.40. This is the Demise quad and to be quite honest I picked it up almost purely for the beautiful burgundy shade. However it contains two more beautiful shades, a deep navy and an incredible Duo-chrome white. This palette also contains an incredibly sheer bronze gold cream shadow which layers beautifully the shades to add some sparkle.
Starkers, Woo, Bloom, Exotic, Exoskeleton.
The last two things I picked up where two of their matte liquid lipsticks. These were down to only £5.55 so I decided to try out two shades. The first was Exotic which is a beautiful orange shade. This is beautifully opaque and sits really well on the lips. The other shade I picked out was Exoskeleton which is the most incredible dark purple shade. This one is slightly less opaque however it is still beautiful. The only thing I will say about these is that the applicator is unlike anything I have used before. It is a brush and I do find it makes getting a precise line can be quite difficult.
Demise palette.

That's it for today, I'd love to know what products you all love from Illamasqua as everything I have tried so far I have really enjoyed.

MUA Velvet Lip Lacquers - Swatched and reviewed

First off I just want to apologise for all the really intense faces I'm pulling in the lip swatch shots below as I look pretty scary! Anyway onto the actual post.

Today I thought I would share some of the most budget liquid lipsticks I have tried. The MUA Velvet lip lacquers are £3 a piece and come in a hug range of 25 shades, this range does also include a colour enhancer which would be fabulous to pair with some of the paler shades. These are highly pigmented extremely matte liquids and possibly aren't one for people with quite sensitive lips as they really stick around. They can be a little drying however I find by applying a thin layer of lip balm underneath they sit nicely on the lips and don't leave them in bad condition once they are removed.

The longevity of these isn't as good as that of some other more expensive liquid lips I have tried and I do find after eating they do tend to flake slightly. In terms of reapplication I do find you can very thinly layer these however that can sometimes lead to them looking a little patchy so I do prefer to completely remove and reapply them. They are incredibly fast drying and they really remind me of the very velvet formula like the Lime Crime velvetines. Overall I really love these and would say they are 100% worth the £3 price tag. Moving onto the shades I own I'm going to do a mini review of each as I do find the formula to slightly differ across the shade range.

The first shade I have is Unity which is an absolutely beautiful pale lilac shade, I absolutely loved this paired with the lilac liner in the shot above however it definitely isn't one I'm going to reach for on a regular basis. I do find that the formula of this one is definitely a little patchier and significantly less opaque however it is an incredibly light shades and after two thinner coats it looks nice and opaque. The second shade is Tranquillity which is a stunning peachy nude shade. I think out of all ten colours this has to be in my top two. I do find out of all of them this one lasts the longest however that is probably due to the fact that it is the closest to my natural lip shade.

The other nude shade I have is Halcyon this is once again a peach toned nude but is a darker and a little less brown toned than tranquillity. Once again this one has a nice lasting power as it is very similar to the shade of my lips. Next up is Dash which is a stunning almost nude berry shade I would say that this one is definitely say that this again is my other top two colour along with tranquillity. This is where they do begin to show more wear however this is such a beautiful shade I can completely deal with that and as I prefer to remove and reapply it isn't something that I really have an issue with.

Vivacity is one of the brightest pinks I have in my collection, I don't very often reach for shades like this however I absolutely love this one. Again this is beautifully opaque and lasts a good 4-6 hours depending on what you eat. Moxie is another pink shade however this is much more red based. It is a bright raspberry shade which I only bought recently but can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of it over the summer months.

The shade Reckless is one I've had for quite a while and is actually in the old packaging, it is a really beautiful true red shade. It does lean a little more blue than some true reds however it still has that deep look you get with a standard red. I think my favourite shade I have is Splash which is an incredible aqua green/blue shade. This is unlike any other blue shade I have seen and I just think it looks so stunning especially on my super pale skin.

The final two shades are purple shades, the first Kooky is a fairly deep purple with quite a lot of pink in it. I do find this one can be a little patchy when my lips aren't in the best condition however most of the time it looks stunning. I think this is the perfect shade to try out purples as it is a lot more pink than any other purples in my collection. Finally we have Symphonic which is another of my favourites. This is a stunning grey toned purple and I can honestly say I have never seen a shade lip it especially not from the drugstore.

Overall as you can probably tell I really do love this line and I think it is fantastic that such vibrant colours are available from the High street.

I'd love to know if you have tried these and what you think of them.

What I got for Christmas 2016

It's been a week since I last posted something over here but I am hoping that this new year will bring some consistency to my blog. Today I thought I would show you what I got for Christmas. I personally really love these posts so I thought I would share mine with you today. Just a little disclaimer I am not bragging in any way! I am super thankful for everything that I got and I just thought you guys would enjoy this post. Also a little side note if you do just want to read about the beauty bits I got they will be at the bottom of the post so you can just scroll right down!

First off I got a couple of super cute bits from New look. The first is a Unicorn beanie, it is scented with lavender and you just pop it in the microwave for 60 seconds and it's the best hot water bottle. I also got some triceratops slippers which are both the coolest and the warmest slippers I have ever worn! I love these kind of jokey cool presents as they are always super useful as well as something a little different.

I love a good Yankee candle so one of my best friends picked me up the scent black cherry. This is actually my all time favourite scent so I was pretty impressed that she picked out this one. If you haven't tried this one before than I highly suggest you go and smell it because it is amazing.

Another couple of stocking filler bits from my Mum and Dad were a couple of baubles from boots, the first is a Fat face one which had a cute little lip balm which went straight in my bag and a mini lip gloss. The other one had a super cute pair of Polar bear and penguin socks.

My other best friend bought me some bits from Paperchase. I needed a new travel cup so she bought me a really cute floral one as well as a food and fitness trackers and a super cute unicorn rubber (As you may have realised I'm a fan of unicorns)

I got a couple more packets of Primark Stiletto nails which I wear all the time, I got some stunning marble ones which are such a blogger aesthetic, a deep burgundy matte pair and some monochrome cracked ones.

My main present off my Mum and Dad was a coat from Superdry. I think I've mentioned on my blog before that I am going to Iceland in February and this is super thick and very warm. It's also quite long meaning it is hopefully going to keep my bad hip warm!

My Dad's best friends wife knows a local lady who makes her own bath bombs and soaps and things so she got me a set of six bath bombs. These smell so beautiful and the biggest thing I love about these are that they are so natural and that they don't irritate my Eczema when it flares up. These are so lovely and I would highly recommend you check out Coconut blush if you love a good bath or have very sensitive skin.

I got this really pretty little bag and purse from River island. I've actually been looking for a new smaller bag forever and this one is perfect. It's big enough to fit my keys, purse, phone and sunglasses but is small enough that I can't just stuff it full of crap.

My Mum knows I am a huge fan of Oasis so she got me the Supersonic DVD which I absolutely cannot wait to watch.

First off for beauty I got a couple of bits from Kat Von D's Shade and light range. First off I got the large palette which contains 12 shades and I also got the mini Shade and light in the shade Rust which is the prefect me palette.

Something I've been lusting over forever is the Urban Decay Sin Highlighter. This is the most incredible champagne shade which I have literally been painting my entire face with as it's so pretty. This is what I expected the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer to be like!

I got a couple of Mac lipsticks from my brother, the first shade is Amorous which is a very pretty berry colour and the other is Chilli which is a very me burnt/brick orange red.

Something that has been on my wishlist since the day it came out was the Urban Decay Ultimate naked basics and I was incredibly happy to find it under my tree. The shades are absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to get more use out of it.

I also got some Kiko bits, I picked these out when we went to the Trafford centre and the are all so pretty, I got the colour fever eye quad in 100, the Long lasting shadows sticks in 05, 07 and 37 and one of the intense colour liners in the shade 800.

Last but most certaintly not least I have another palette which I have been lusting after since it's launch, I have got so much use out of the Moondust palette so far and I cannot wait to use it more. I also got a couple of the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks which are another thing I have been wanting since they were released. In the end I picked out Bow n arrow and Lolita II and I absolutely love them both and I am definitely going to be needing to expand my collection.

So that's it for today, if you have written one of these posts then leave it in the comments as I find them so interesting to read!
