#BigBlogmasproject2014 - Christmas biscuit trees.

I feel like I haven't written a baking post in months, I feel like I just haven't had time to bake so on sunday I decided I was going to make time and whip up a quick batch of sugar biscuits. When I was on pinterest I can across a really cute recipe for these cute little "Christmas tree" biscuits. Which are essentially stars stacked on top of each other with icing. I really like the way these look and I think I might make them for the table of christmas day.

I used my basic sugar cookie recipe which is
75g Butter
1 egg
50g caster sugar
50g soft brown sugar
250g plain flour (I sometimes take 50g of flour out and replace it with 50g of ground almonds)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1. Cream together the butter and sugar.
2. Add the egg and vanilla extract.
3. Sieve in the flour and baking powder.
4. Roll out and cut into shapes.
5. Bake at 180 for 10-15mins
6. Once completely cool decorate in any way you desire.

All I did to make these was cover all my biscuits in icing, and then leave it to set slightly (until it forms a slight skin) I then put them together so that the icing still stuck them together but didn't run down the sides. I then sprinkled them with white chocolate stars and edible glitter!
