Everyone loves this foundation, I genuinely don't think I've ever heard anything bad said about it and I expected to really love it however I have to say I wasn't half as impressed as I thought I would be. I don't hate it but I don't love it the way I expected too.
First off the packaging is so gorgeous, it feels really luxe with the frosted glass and the bootle feels super heavy. I also love the fact it has a pump, far too many super luxe foundations don't have pumps so I really like the fact that this one does. I have the shade 2 which is the lightest shade which was available on Feel unique and although it is a little too yellow in tone for me I find that I can get it to work as long as it is blended nicely down the neck.
Overall I expected this to be at least a medium coverage verging on high however I found that this was just too sheer. I like a sheer coverage foundation however paired with the fact that the formula is a little drier I just don't like the combination with the sheer coverage. I think the main reason I wasn't impressed with it was the fact that it doesn't look a whole lot luminous on my skin. I like a really dewy, really glowy foundation so for me I just find it a little too dry. I was super surprised by this as so many people love this foundation and I have heard so many people with dry skin talk about it so much.
I feel like it is more of a satin formula rather than something which is really luminous which is what I expected from it initially. I do like this foundation for times when I am being super good with my skincare routine and my skin is more hydrated than normal however it isn't something I'm going to be reaching for on a regular basis like so many others. I feel like the YSL touche éclat foundation is very like what I expected the formula of this to be.
Overall I think if you haven't got super duper dry skin you will really love this however I think for me my skin is just too dry. I would love to know what you think of this foundation.
I love this foundation & couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve repurchased it! I have dry skin but it works well for me - I usually pair it with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm xx
ReplyDeleteI've had this on my wishlist because of all the rave reviews. I'm glad I read your review, I'm surprised it's so sheer. I also like a dewy look, not so much satin. Thanks for being so honest.

A great, honest review! As someone with dry skin I have stayed away from this product and you have just confirmed it for me
ReplyDeleteAh it sucks when something doesn't work out to plan, I agree this isn't the best choice for drier skin types.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually normal/combo skin but the winter season changed my skin to normal/dry. I bought this foundation wanting to get a dewy/luminous effect and I was disappointed as well. I agree with everything you said re this foundation.

ReplyDeleteI have this foundation and I like it in the summer but it isn’t great when my skin is extra dry x

Oooh now I have only read rave reviews so this was quite the eye opener x
ReplyDeleteI always find it really hard to find a foundation that isn't too dry. Dry products make my skin look cakey.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the power fabric to this one x
ReplyDeleteSucks you didn’t love it that much, I feel like my feelings would be the same on this one :(
ReplyDeleteIt’s such a shame you didn’t seem to get along with it. I was thinking about trying it out too but not too sure now x
ReplyDeleteI love how this foundation looks on first application but I need to keep checking it as it gets super oily looking on me as the day goes on!
