Blogmas ¦ Day 18 - Lashes for the festive season

I love a good pair of lashes so when the lovely people over a kiss offered to send me some of their lashes I couldn't say no. They sent me four variants of the lashes. The most natural being the Shy lashes* which I am so in love with. I love a good natural lash and I am so excited to give these ones a go. They also sent me three more dramatic lashes, Posh* are the most dense lashes. They're incredibly full and long, they would be so perfect for New years eve. The Pretty lashes* are also quite dramatic however they are a little less dense. Finally the Flirty lashes* are another quite natural set however they are more dramatic than the shy lashes.

I've not actually given the glue a go yet as I'm a little to loyal to my duo lash glue however I'm sure it works perfectly well. These lashes are really lovely quality and I imagine you could get maybe 3-4 wears out of one pair which when you think they cost between £4.99 and £5.99 a pair. These lashes have tapered ends so they blend in much better than lashes with cut off ends.

Overall I'm so impressed with these and I would highly recommend giving them a go if you are looking for some lashes for the Christmas period.

Blogmas ¦ Day 17 - The drugstore base duo

I am completely obsessed with the Nars sheer glow foundation at the moment however today I thought I would talk to you about this little drugstore duo for the days when I want a little less coverage.

I actually managed to buy the Bourjois CC cream in 3 shades to dark for me so it's perfect for mixing in with a super pale foundation like the Rimmel lasting finish. Both of these products are a low to medium coverage so when mixed together they give the most beautiful glowy finish and together they offer a slightly less than medium coverage. I've been reaching for this little duo on more natural makeup days and applied with a beauty blender it does just enough to cover any redness and with the addition of a little concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes and it offers the perfect natural look. Lasting power wise I find this gives me a good 8 hours before I end up looking a little shiny on my nose and my chin.

Blogmas ¦ Day 16 - Blogging goals for 2016

As the end of the year looms closer I've been thinking about what I want to happen with my blog. I am hoping that by the end of 2016 that I'm going to be able to write a post and tell you about how I've achieved everyone of them but we will wait and see.

1. Starting Youtube

So the first one is something that the people in my life really want me to give a go and that is youtube. I'm hoping to invest in a decent camera in early 2016 and have my youtube channel up and running by the summer. It's a massive thing and I'm not sure whether I will hate it but I've decided it's about time I gave it a go.

2. Improve my photography

Leading on from that one I'm also hoping to improve my photography. I know a fancy camera isn't everything but my little Nikon digital camera is coming to the end of it's life and I'm really struggling to get any decent quality pictures recently.

3. To hit 2000 followers

I'm currently about 60 followers away from 1500 so I feel like I may be over estimating my ability a little but I mean go big or go home.

4. To go to more Blogger meet ups

I've only ever actually been to two blogger meet ups in my whole 3 years of blogging so I'm hoping that I manage to get to more in 2016. So if any of you are thinking of a Manchester based meet up in the new year let me know!

5. Use Pinterest more

I need to use Pinterest more. I've heard so many people talk about how it's helped their blog grow so much so my goal is to try and pin photos from at least two posts a week.

I'd love to know what your blogging goals are for next year!

Blogmas ¦ Day 15 - A little chat about free stuff.

I don't know about other bloggers but I feel like this question is bouncing round the internet far to much recently. There are so many people that when I tell them about my blog they ask if I get sent any free stuff. I get that to some people it's interesting but when they ask "If I start a blog will I get free stuff" a little bit of my soul dies (This is possibly a little dramatic) I understand that getting free stuff is good and it's definitely one of the perks of being a blogger. But we must also remember how much hard work we put into our content and we spend a hell of a lot of time and money on making sure our blog is the best it can be.

I was writing my blog for over a year before a PR contacted me and told me that they wanted to work with me, my hard work paid off and it was something that I was incredibly proud of. However if that is your only motivation for writing a blog then it shows. It does come across in your writing that all you want is free stuff. Don't measure your blogs worth through PR samples.

I'd love to know what some other bloggers think about PR!
