Beauty ¦ The Primark nude lip

This purchase was definitely one of those completely random ones. I'd heard a couple of people mention the lip liners from Primark however I never really gave them much thought. I'm not even sure I've heard the liquid lipsticks mention however I decided for £3 I may as well give a liner and a liquid lipstick a go.

So lets start with packaging, I think for the price the packaging's pretty nice. I like the black and gold and I really love the way the lip liner shows the colour on the lid and the end making it easy to choose which one you want if you have a few. The packaging of the lipstick actually feels super sturdy and I was impressed by the brush too. The only thing I will say is that the writing is beginning to rub off the front of mine however I did walk round in Primark with it in my hand for ages so that could be why.

I wasn't sure what to expect of the lip liner, I find some really inexpensive lip liners can be incredibly drying and difficult to work with. However I found it was creamy but not to creamy that it felt like it wasn't going to hold anything in place. As for the colour I am 100% in love with it. I would describe it as a very mauve-y nude. I think the shade is called 09 however it isn't very clear so I'm not 100% sure. Against swatches I've seen on the internet this shade seems in the same family as the likes of Mac Whirl and Soar. So if you are into those kind of shades then I'd highly recommend this liner.

As for the liquid lipstick I wasn't sure what to expect as it doesn't actually state what finish it is. As for the applicator I really love it, at first I thought it put to much product on the lips however as I worked it into the lips I realised that it worked best for spreading the product out once on the lips rather than applying and even layer straight onto the lips. I do like the formula of the product once it's dried however it is a little bit of a pain waiting for it to dry as it is super sticky while it's drying.

Overall I'm actually really impressed with these two products especially for the price!

3rd Row - MOTD - Haul - Purple toned eye shadows
Last Row - Dark lip - Maple holistics skincare - Maxfactor cobalt blue

I haven't been as active on Instagram this month as I usually am. With starting college last month I feel like I've had no time to breathe never mind to instagram. However I thought I'd still do my little roundup and hopefully I'll be more active throughout October.

Beauty ¦ September favourites

I absolutely love this time of the year and the minute September hit the bright pinks and oranges were out the window and I replaced them with much deeper berry hues. This is definitely reflected in this months favourites.

So let's start with the skincare item. I don't usually invest in high end skincare so when I won a giveaway including lots of skincare I was very excited. I've wanted to try the Alpha H Liquid gold forever and I'm glad to say it definitely lives up to the hype. I've been using it once every two days and I've found it's really improved the general texture of my skin. I have also found that it's reduced the amount of blemishes I've been getting.

Next up we have Nicole by OPI - Party bus I picked this up from TKmaxx so I'm not 100% sure if you can pick it up from stockists however I gave it a quick google and you can pick it up from Amazon and Ebay. It's a mixture of large and small chunks of silver glitter and I've literally worn it constantly all month.

So onto the makeup first off I have the Maxfactor Cream puff blush in Gorgeous berries I picked this up when these blushes first came out and I didn't use it at all for ages as they came out at the start of the summer however since we moved into September I've probably worn it at least half the days I've worn makeup this month. It's such a pretty shade and it leaves a really beautiful healthy glow on the cheeks.

For lips I've been wearing Mac Brick'o'la a lot. It's an amplified finish which is definitely my favourite finish from Mac. It's a mix of red and terracotta and it's a perfect dark but quite neutral lip which is perfect for everyday. I really don't think this gets as much hype as it should do and I'd highly recommend it to everyone!

Finally for this months favourites is Maybelline's Metallic pomegranate colour tattoo I love the colour tattoo's and you will know that if you are a regular reader. This shade is quite a neutral burgundy shade it has a lot of brown in it which I love as it means I can wear it everyday without feeling to overdone.

Foodie Friday ¦ Earlybird Taste box (and a free box code)

When I saw this snack box pop up on someone else's blog (I can't remember who's #badblogger) I was super excited and headed straight over to the website to order my free box. I love the idea of this box, it combines food, music, art and tea which I think is brilliant and a little bit more interesting than your average snack box.

So the box actually came with loads of stuff in the top we had a little booklet with all the information in, a booklet telling me all about the company and then a card with a discount code on for family and friends (and blog readers) to get their first box free.

So onto possibly the most important bit the snacks. In each box you receive five snacks (They suggest one for everyday of the working week) They are each in a little plastic bag with the name of the snack on them. The only thing I wish they did have was a description of what's in them on the front of the packet.

I'm going to be honest here I liked the snacks but in the back of my mind I was constantly comparing them to graze and I don't think they are quite a nice. Don't get me wrong they aren't unpleasant but I think Graze hits the ball out of the park when it comes to snack boxes.

The box also included two teabags which I thought where a really lovely addition to the box and something I really wish other snack boxes offered too. Overall I did really enjoy the taste box. If you'd like to get one for free go onto the website and enter the code Jaffa-2266 for your first box free.
