What's in my travel makeup bag - Easter break

So I'm currently on easter break and I've come home from uni so today I thought I would show you what products I've brought with me. Theres a mix of products I already love and some new bits I've been testing out recently. So without further ado lets get straight into it or else we might be here forever.

Primer wise I just decided to bring the Glossier priming moisturiser as it is one of those primers which works well under all foundations. My skin has been super dry at the moment and I've pretty much exclusively only used my Stila primer so I thought I'd pick something similar but try and use something different. For my base I picked something super light and a more full coverage product. The Bare minerals complexion rescue is my favourite super natural everyday base. It's incredibly hydrating and offers a light to medium coverage. I also packed the Charlotte tilbury magic foundation which is the most gorgeous higher coverage base which mixes beautifully with the bare minerals complexion rescue should I want something more medium.

Concealer wise I decided to pack the new Revolution conceal and define concealer which I've tried a couple of times and I have to say currently I'm really enjoying it. I love the huge doe foot applicator and the formula so far has been something I've loved. I also packed my old trusty Urban decay Naked concealer which is potentially my favourite concealer of all time. For the cheeks I packed the George at Asda blush which is such a beautiful rose shade. I love this for a natural flush however I do have to be super careful with it as the pigmentation is absolutely crazy. I also packed the Glossier cloud paint in the shade dusk which is another really beautiful everyday shade. Its a more orange toned nude shade than the George blush, but they both give the same nude flush effect.

Highlighter wise I've been loving layering a powder highlight over a cream so I packed the NYX liquid illuminator which is a pinky toned liquid highlight. Matching perfectly with the Laura seller powder highlight I packed. These highlights are super glowy and intense. Bronzer wise I packed my Urban Decay beach bronzer which was one I used constantly over last summer so dug it out of my collection. I love how warm this bronzer is and I cannot wait to get some more use out of it.

Brow wise,  I packed my ride or die brow products which are the the Anastasia Dip brow which is my favourite brow product of all time. I also packed my Freedom duo brow powder which is my favourite to both use on it's own for a more natural brow but it is also my favourite way to ensure that my dip brow is completely set down. Mascara wise I packed my favourite at the moment which is Maybelline's total temptation which is just the most beautiful lengthening mascara and is so affordable too. I threw in one of the Marc Jacobs highliners, which are the best creamy liners. They aren't the cheapest however if you have super watery eyes and a love of naps like me you definitely need to give them a go.

I definitely overpacked eyeshadow palettes however all three are new to my collection and I have been testing them extensively over the past few weeks. There will be full posts on all three at some point over the next month as I am loving them all. Anastasia Soft glam which is a gorgeous everyday palette, Violet voss hashtag which is something a little different in terms of a warm toned palette and then Lime crime Venus XL which is the most beautiful pinky toned palette.

Finally for lips I packed a couple of liners from NYX, George, CYO and Mac. Then I also packed a mix of nude liquid lips and only nude liquid lips which was completely unplanned. I had to bring Kat von D Lolita which is one of my all time favourite nude shades. I also packed Ofra Nude potion from the Nikkie tutorials collection which is the most beautiful pinky pale nude. Lime crime Saint is a much deeper nude and one a lot of people perhaps wouldn't describe as a nude. Finally I packed Stila Patina which is something again I have dug out of my collection.

So that's it for today, let me know what products you'd take away with you!

This month I loved, 02

So I am fully aware this is super late but because of my operation and birthday the start of March was insane. However I still wanted to show you what I've been loving throughout February as I have found some incredible products.

I heart makeup Summer of love triple baked bronzer in Hot summer of love.

Now I am not normally one for shimmery bronzers however everyone always says how beautiful this product is. It is incredibly glowy however I've been really loving it applied subtly on it's own but also over the top of other bronzers to add a little glow. In the swatch it looks very pale however I find on the skin it is enough for me. I feel like I'm going to continue to love this over the summer.

Bleach London single eyeshadows

I am really loving these shadows at the moment, they come in such a huge range of bright shades. I love the fact that there is finally a single shadow range which is easily available at the drugstore. I have a huge range of shades from deep blues to the most incredible bright yellow gold. They are incredibly pigmented and blend like an absolute dream! I would definitely recommend them.

Jouer Springtime in paris eyeshadow palette

This is one I have pulled out of the back of my eyeshadow drawer and I love it. It really does have a beautiful mix of spring shades. I absolutely love the purple and navy to add a pop of colour on the lower lash line. Theres also a really fab range of neutral shades. I just think it is a beautiful palette for this time of year.

Marc Jacobs Highliners

These are some of the creamiest liners I have every tried. Now don't get me wrong they aren't cheap but I really think if you have a problem with liners disappearing in the water line and it smudging under the eyes then you need to give these a go. They also have an incredible shade range, I definitely have my eye on the periwinkle blue shade.

George lip liner in Mink pink

This has been the liner that over the month I have reached for. It is beautifully creamy and hydrating, it's a fairly neutral pink shade and it matches my lip colour so well. I like to use this one under a liquid lipstick so that it has something a little hydrating underneath.

NYX Butter gloss in Angel food cake

If you are a long time reader you will know that I love the NYX butter glosses. This shade is just the most stunning deep nude pink shade. These glosses aren't sticky or uncomfortable at all and remind me a lot of the Clarins lip perfectors!

Anastasia Matte lipstick in Honey

I haven't been wearing matte liquid lipsticks as much as normal lately and instead I've been reaching for the more traditional matte bullet lipstick. I really love the formula of the Anastasia matte lipsticks and out of the four shades I have honey is definitely my favourite. It is the most stunning pretty pale orangey nude shade. It's one I've been racking for when I don't really know what lipstick to wear.

I heart makeup bronzer, Marc Jacobs liner, George lip liner, Anastasia matte lipstick, NYX gloss, two shades from the Jouer palette, Two Bleach London shades.
That's it for today, I would love to know what you've been loving recently.

Pretty little palettes - the vampy and the magical ones

I have not seen these palettes on any blogs however I feel like they are all over facebook. I hadn't really paid much attention to these however I saw that they were on a buy one get one free offer and decided to give them a go!

I ended up paying £22 for the two which I thought was a pretty good deal, after getting them and swatching them I would definitely say it was an incredible deal. The first palette I ordered was the Magical palette, this one is the brightest of the three. I love the colour combination of the blues and the oranges. I feel like this palette is such a individual palette and you can create such a huge range of looks. The shimmers in this palette are so beautiful and metallic. The mattes are incredibly blendable, however I do wish there was maybe one more matte shade.

The vampy palette is probably the one I get the most wear out of. These shades are super dark and I feel like this is a great autumnal and winter palette. I have to admit some of the shades are slightly more patchy than the magical palette. I feel like the range of shades in this palette are perfect, we have a couple of really stunning transition shades, a couple of really lovely lid shades and then some really beautiful deep shades. I feel like this palette is the ultimate warm toned smokey eye palette. I find that the shadows have a little more fallout opposed to the magical palette so this is definitely one to use before the rest of your makeup is applied.

Overall I really like these palettes and I think if you can get them on the buy one get one free offer then you should definitely grab the opportunity.

The new kids on the block

I feel like recently they're has been a huge influx of new brands on the beauty scene. Today I thought I would share with you my thought on some products I've picked up from some new brands. I've got two new brands to Boots, a new brand to Superdrug and the new Asda makeup range.

Obsession is a new brand to boots and comes from TAM beauty who are the umbrella brand that makeup revolution and I heart makeup come under. The range of products is fairly limited or at least the range in my local boots is. I picked up three of the matte lip kits and one of their liquid illuminators. The lip kits are all really lovely nude everyday shades, I think there are more shades however these three where the only ones my local boots had. These are very similar to the makeup revolution lip kits and I have been really enjoying the formula. The liquid illuminator is a beautiful duo chrome pink shade which I am so obsessed with. Again very similar to the makeup revolution ones and something I would definitely look into buying more shades of.

The other new brand to boots is CYO, I believe that these are a replacement to the Seventeen range from Boots which I am actually really disappointed to hear that they are being discontinued. That being said the bits I have tried from CYO so far have been very impressive. I picked up a couple of powder products, the first being a matte bronzer which is a really lovely basic matte bronzer. I also picked up a trio illuminator which has two shimmer shades and a matte shade which is very similar to the bronzer. This looks so beautiful swirled together as a highlight/blush or the colours can be picked out and used individually. I also bought a lip liner which I have been really loving and I am definitely going to go and pick up some more shades as they are so creamy and comfortable.

New to Superdrug is the Bleach London makeup range. This range largely focuses on custom palettes however they do also have other products such as liquid highlights and brushes. The eyeshadows come in a huge range of shades and are so pretty. I have actually filled up a nine pan palette and I also have a bigger palette with a couple of shades in as the range is super huge so there are a lot of shades that I didn't already have in my collection and I couldn't resist. The pans are also only £3.00 which you really can't complain about.

Finishing up with the George at Asda range which is definitely the one that I bought the most from. the new range is super beautiful and is so affordable I just couldn't resist. The only thing I am yet to try is the cream eyeshadow which is a stunning bronze shade, it's very creamy I just haven't given it a go yet. The powder blush and bronzer are beautiful, super pigmented but also incredibly easy to blend and wear. The cosmic blush is something I have been using as a highlight and blush topper and I am so obsessed. It looks so beautiful and gives the face such a healthy luminous glow. Then for lips I picked up on of the matte lip shades and one of the satin shades. Both look stunning and wear beautifully. The matte one is so creamy and comfortable yet looks really matte. The satin reminds me a lot of Mac's satin formula both comfortable and creamy but not too creamy. Finally I picked up a lip liner which reminds me a lot of the CYO one. Very creamy and comfortable.

That's it for today's post, have you tried anything from any of these brands?

Dipping my toes into Nip and fab

I was incredibly excited when Nip and fab announced they were bringing out a makeup range as I love their skincare. However I just never got round to picking anything up, that being said when I spotted the Liquid gold highlight drops I knew I had to pick them up.

I went for the shade White gold which is the most beautiful pinky iced shade. These drops are ridiculously intense, yet they still blend out beautifully. These are definitely one for people who are into a more blinding highlight. Out of all the lower end liquid illuminators I have tried this one is definitely the one that is the most foiled. It doesn't have any glitter in it at all so if you are on the look out for a liquid highlight that is super blinding but doesn't have any glitter this one is for you.

Moving onto the palette, I feel like this is the perfect everyday palette. It has a nice mix of matte and shimmer shades. If you are into highly metallic shimmer shades this one might not be for you however if you are look for just a slight shimmer then I feel like you will love this. The shadows are beautiful quality and aren't too pigmented making them nice and easy to blend. I feel like the range of shades in this palette is done really beautifully as there are plenty of transition shades for the majority of skin tones. It's also fairly neutral in tone, in fact a fair few of the shades are on the cooler end of the neutral spectrum. I also like the fact the shades have names and that they are on the packaging, although that isn't everything as a blogger and youtuber I always appreciate it.

Overall I've been really impressed by the quality of the Nip and Fab products and I will definitely be trying more. I'd love to know what you think.
