Beauty ¦ More new releases from Miss sporty

It really doesn't feel that long ago since I last wrote about new releases from Miss sporty but here I am again to show you the brand new summer collection. I'm super excited about this one and I'm really impressed with all the products. So without further ado I shall tell you about them.

Miss sporty clubbing colours 1 minute quick dry nail polishes*

The clubbing colours nail polishes are something I've really liked for a long time, I used to buy them all the time when I was younger and I already had a couple in my stash. One of my favourite shades is Pop fiction so I put the old formula against the new formula and I just found it was a better formula the reformulation went on a little smoother and a little more opaque it dried a little faster the the old formula. In terms of finish the new formula is a little more glossy and the finish is a little more gel like. They also changed the brush and made it thicker which I much prefer. There is going to be 18 shades of these and I will work my way through them all and let you know my favourites.

Miss sporty Fabulous eyes Glossy shadow sticks*
From top to bottom - Gold almond, Peanut butter, Chocolate chip, Strawberry coulis, Earl grey cupcake

I love eyeshadow crayons as they are just so easy, these ones are really lovely. They are quite sheer and aren't the most pigmented but I find they are perfect for just throwing on and going. My favourite shade is peanut butter which is the most beautiful rose gold shade which is amazing for just adding a little bit of colour onto the lids. The name Glossy shadow put me off at first as I thought they would be really slippy but they set down really nicely and stick around for a good 6 hours without a primer and all day with a primer.

Left to right - Gold almond, Peanut butter, Chocolate chip, Strawberry coulis, Earl grey cupcake

Miss sporty Eye millionaire eye liners*

I'm not a big liner wearer anymore although I do still like a little bit of liner on my tight line. I haven't used the purple or the grey yet but the black and the brown are both really lovely. They are really pigmented and they have a really gorgeous texture and they feel almost gel like. They last nicely and I've been really enjoying using them.

From left to right - Winning purple, Silver grey, Money brown, Clover black

Miss sporty lash millionaire false lash effect mascara and Morning baby BB cream in bronze*

The final two bits I have are a mascara which I'm yet to use as I already have a couple of mascaras to open. The final thing today for today is the Morning baby BB cream in bronze which I've been using over my primer and under my foundation. It's too dark to use on it's own but I feel like I may be able to get away with wearing it alone in the summer. It doesn't offer much coverage but it evens out the skin and adds a little bit of a glow.

So that's it all of these products will be out on the 9th april in boots and superdrug stores.
* I was sent these to review but all opinions are my own.

Beauty ¦ The face - The almost smoky eye

After digging the products out for my shop my stash post //Here// I did my makeup with the products that I picked out and really liked the way it ended up so I thought I'd share it with you.

So I started off with the Maxfactor CC cream  and then used my Maybelline fit me concealer in any blemishes and under my eyes. I then used the highlighter side if the Seventeen contour kit to set my concealer as it's just a  pale matte powder so it works really nicely as a setting powder. I then used the contour side to contour with and applied a little bit of Natural collection Pink cloud blush on my cheeks.

Moving on to my eyes I used the Collection eyeshadow pencil all over my lid as a base and then highlighted my brow bone with the Catrice single shadow in Ooops nude did it again. I also popped this shade on the tops of my cheekbones. I then did my brows with the benefit instant brow pencil just roughly filling them in as they are in need of a little bit of love at the moment.

Then moving back onto my eyes I used rose ash from the Mua palette all over my lid, ran chino lightly through my crease then used titan on the outer V. I then used a little bit more of chino on a blending brush and lightly blended it all together. Then I used the Miss sporty kohl liner on my waterline and tightline smudging a little under my eye with the brush I used for the darkest shade titan. I then finished off my eyes with lashings of the Seventeen doll'd up mascara.

Finally for lip I used the Korres jasmine lip butter as a sort of base and then I used Seventeen's mirror shine lipstick in Beehive over the top for a gorgeous glossy pinky nude shade!

Life ¦ A cheeky bit of pavlova

I haven't written a baking post in ages and when I made this a couple of weeks ago I just knew I had to blog about it! Meringues never go right for me so when this one worked I just had to share it on here.

You will need
4 Egg whites
115g Caster sugar
115g Icing sugar (plus extra to dust on top)
200ml Whipping cream
Fruits of your choice

So you want to start off by separating your eggs, you must make sure there are no bits of yellow in them as you'll never be able to make them into stiff peaks.

Use an electric whisk to beat your egg whites until they form stiff peaks and you can turn the bowl upside down and they stay where they are.

You then want to add in the Caster sugar whilst still whisking to make sure it's completely incorporated. Then finally sieve in the icing sugar and fold in with a metal spoon. This gives the meringue a much more marshmellowy texture.

Spoon the meringue mixture onto a tray lined with greaseproof paper and slightly spread out however very lightly so not to knock the air out of it.

The meringue needs to be baked on a low temperature (120) for around an hour and 15 minutes however it tends to vary each time.

For the topping whip the cream using an electric whisk and either chop, crush or leave your fruits whole. It's also super tasty with salted caramel and chocolate if you're feeling super naughty.

Fashion ¦ Earrings from Body jewellery

I tend to stick to the same earrings all the time as I am a creature of habit however when I got the chance to order a couple of pairs of earrings from the body jewellery's Ear piercing section I jumped at the chance. I've been wearing the silver sparkly studs a lot as they add just a little bit of glitter to anything. Both pairs are made from stainless steel and are fairly sturdy considering the super low price. The selection is insane and they also offer lots of other accessories for different piercings as well as a large variety of stretchers (Not my forte but there are some really pretty ones on there) I'd seriously recommend having the look on the website if you are into piercings.

* These items were sent for review however all opinions are my own.

Beauty ¦ Rimmel lasting finish nude foundation

Once upon a time I used to use the Rimmel Match perfection everyday and I absolutely loved it. It's one of those products that I just never ended up re purchasing (It's now on my shopping list to pick up) I'd never tried any of the other Rimmel foundations as the shade I wear (010 for reference) wasn't carried in any of the other lines other than the match perfection. However when they released this I was excited to see that they now offer the shade in both this and the normal lasting finish.

The shade match is perfect for me it's a very pink toned very pale shade and it matches me perfectly. This was exactly what I was expecting it feels beautifully light on the skin, it doesn't offer a massive amount of coverage however it can be built to a almost medium coverage without it looking cakey. I find it doesn't collect around the nose or cling to any dry patches.  I can't comment on how it fares with oil as at the moment it's not something that I am suffering with it at all. The lasting power is good and I find it stays around most of the day.

My skins not been great at the moment so I haven't been reaching for this as it's not enough coverage as I have just broken out like crazy. I feel like I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this in the summer due to the fact it's so light and comfortable on the skin as well as having an SPF 20.

Have you tried this? How are you getting on with it?

Life ¦ Sweet and sour recipe

Sweet and sour is one of my all time favourite meals, I also really love cooking it so today I thought I'd share my recipe with you! It's super simple and super quick whilst still being really tasty. This isn't the prettiest of meals I must warn you but what it lacks in the looks department it makes up for in general yumminess!

Ingredients
1 pepper (I prefer red or yellow)
200g baby corn
150g beansprouts
Small tin of bamboo shoots
3 medium carrots
1 pack of mushrooms
(All of the above veggies are completely optional I swap things in and out all the time other things I love in it are broccoli and pineapple!)
3 Garlic cloves
1 bunch of spring onions or 1 large onion
A couple of chilli's
A thumb sized piece of ginger (Grated)

For the sauce
5 Tbsp soy sauce
5 Tbsp white wine vinegar
3 Tbsp soft brown sugar
3 Tbsp tomato sauce
3 Tbsp corn flour

Heat the wok and stir fry the garlic, ginger, chilli and onions for a minute then add whatever meat and brown. Then add in all your other vegetables. How long the veggies need depends on how much you've got in your wok and how much you want your veg to be cooked. I personally like my carrots still a bit crunchy so I add them in after about 2 minutes of stir frying all the other veg.

Mix all of the sauce ingredients in a jug and make sure the cornflour is fully dissolved. Pour the sauce over the ingredients in the wok, sometimes I find it needs more sauce so I just make up a little bit more if it needs it.

I then serve it with either rice or noodles and it's done!

What are your favourite chinese dishes?

Beauty ¦ Drugstore Haulin'

Note: I actually picked up this stuff about a month ago so these offers will have probably ended.

A mission to buy Night cream, dry shampoo and concealer it was never going to end well. I actually went into boots to pick up the clarins instant concealer as I've heard nothing but good things. Unfortunately they didn't have my shade in stock so the woman sent me away with a little sample and said she'd ring me when it was back in stock. Because I couldn't get my concealer I decided to drown my sorrows in a whole host of makeup I really didn't need leaving with a full bag and an empty purse but it's ok it's for the blog.

Garnier Moisture + Restore Night care £3.99
This actually smells really good and I like garnier as a brand so I thought I'd give it a go! My skin is really dry at the moment so hopefully this will add a little bit more moisture into my skin.

Garnier Wake me up Moisture match £3.99
I've heard really great things about the moisture match range in general. I thought this one would be really nice for under my foundation in a morning. It's a really lovely gel texture so I feel like makeup is going to go on really nicely on top of it.

Superdrug Killer volume dry shampoo 2 for £2.00
I get through do much batiste so I wanted to give these a go and see if I get on with it as well as it's much more affordable.

Maybelline Color tattoo leather effect - Creamy beige and Vintage plum £4.99 each
If you are a reader that has been around for a while you will know I was obsessed with the colour tattoo's for a while and I was super excited to find out that there were some new shades. Creamy beige is a camel brown shade with the tiniest bit of shimmer which is pretty much undetectable when swatched. Vintage plum is a mauvey grey shade which from what I can tell is completely matte. I haven't yet tried these on the lids but I will definitely review them when I've given them a proper try.

Collection Eyes uncovered - Nude and Nude bronze £3.99
I have heard so many good things about these since their release date I know that Lily pebbles loves them. I am so in love with the nude bronze palette it's beautiful and has the most amazing bronze shades.

Rimmel Lasting finish nude foundation (On offer for £4.99)
I really enjoyed the match perfection foundation when I tried it so I'm very excited to give this one a go. I've heard good things about this and I love a good new release so I had to give it a go.

Rimmel Kate Moss - Red nose red £5.49 (£1.67 goes to charity)
A lipstick for charity, how could I not pick it up. I think it's nice to see drugstore brands supporting charity's as a lot of the time it's the more high end brands. This is a really gorgeous red shade and I love the formula and the lasting power of the Rimmel Kate lipsticks.

As you may notice the lovely Elsie has ended up on my list twice this month as i've been loving her blog in the past couple of weeks. I seriously urge you to head over and have a little nosey. Also a massive shoutout to the lovely frances who runs my current favourite foodie blog The spoon and whisk, if you are a lover of food you seriously need to check out her blog her recipes are drool worthy and her photography is gorgeous!

Beauty ¦ The best drugstore nail polishes (Ever!)

Maybelline forever strong Gel nail colour - £4.49 - //Here//

I actually love the formula of these nail polishes, they are so shiny and the lasting power is insane. Even without a topcoat. I have two shades, the own above is Mint for life and I also have Hot salsa. These are like the more grown up version of the Barry M gelly paints. With a strong 50 shade range there is a colour in this line for everyone. I've got my eye on the deep wine shade and I'm thinking about picking up one of the paler pink colours for prom.

I seriously suggest you give these a go! They have most definitely overtaken the Barry M gelly paints as my favourite drugstore nail polishes!

Beauty ¦ Shopping the stash #2

Whilst I was sorting through my stash a couple of weeks ago I realised that I've fallen into a bit of a makeup rut and I've found myself reaching for the same products day after day. So I thought I'd do a shop my stash post and try and boost myself out of said rut.

Mua Hall of Fame palette - £4.00
I got this for christmas and I haven't really given it a proper try. It's got a gorgeous mix of shades that are all really buttery and pigmented. I'm really impressed with the longevity and blendability and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it.

Mac Up the amp - £15.50
I love this lipstick and I wore it to death in the summer but since then I haven't really reached for it. I love the shade and it looks amazing paired with a light brown eye and really glowy skin.

Collection Eyeshadow pencil Vintage blush - £2.99
I really love the shade of this and it makes the most lovely base for eyeshadows, it's a gorgeous rose gold shade and I've never really found another shade like it. It blends beautifully and has a really lovely lasting power.

Seventeen Mirror shine lipstick Beehive - £4.79
This is starting to look a little gross and I just want to get it finished, despite this I've not being using it recently. I love the shade and the finish I just want to be able to buy a new one thats not all gross and mashed up.

Korres jasmine lip butter - £6.40
I love this and it smells like cake but it's not that hydrating so because my lips were so dry it wasn't cutting it. Since getting my nuxe reve de meil and pairing it with my blistex my lips have been in a much better state so this is nice to use under my lipsticks in a morning.

Catrice Ooops nude did it again - 2.79 eur
I used this on my brow bone religiously when I first got it and then I just popped it back in my stash and I haven't really used it since, it's the perfect brow bone highlight shade as it's slightly shimmery but not full on glittery. It also make a really lovely inner corner highlight.

Seventeen Define and conquer contour kit - £5.99
In all honesty since I picked this up I haven't used the contour shade on my face, for the first couple of days I used the highlight shade as a setting powder. It was one of those third 3 for 2 purchases so I'm not too bothered about it getting left although I would like to give it a proper try before I write it off completely.

Natural collection Pink cloud - £1.99
Natural collection blushes are amazing quality for the price and I used this shade religiously for so long but then as I got more and more into makeup it got pushed away to the back and got overtaken by the likes of Topshop and Rimmel. I really want to get back into using it as it is the most beautiful but natural everyday matte pink.

Life ¦ The 16th Birthday Haul

I wasn't sure whether to do this post or not but then in the end I just thought why not! I got some super lovely stuff and I'm super grateful, this post isn't to brag I just thought you guys would enjoy it. I've decided that I'm just going to leave it as the pictures and pop in a few little bits of detail rather than talking about everything. If you'd like to see anything reviewed or posts about anything just leave me a comment and I will try and get it up.

Beauty ¦ The spring/summer lip edit

I spend the entire of the year wishing we were in a different season, I'm waiting on spring this year like never before so to introduce a little spring onto my blog I thought I'd talk about some of the lip products I think i'm going to be getting a lot of wear out of this spring and summer.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm - Showy - £7.99 //Here//
I love these matte balms, they smell amazing and they are the best textured matte lip product I've ever used. Showy is the most amazing bright blue toned pink. It looks incredible with a tan. It wears well for around 5 hours before fading around the inside of the lips begins to happen.

Miss sporty Precious shine - Orange topaz* - £2.59 //Here//
First off this smells like watermelons, perfect for summer or what! This is a really lovely sheer orange shade with a tiny weeny hint of glitter (although it's pretty much undetectable on the lips) It can be really sheer in the lips but with a bit of building it can be quite a bright and intense shade. It's a lovely place to start if you aren't to sure about wearing orange.

Clarins Instant light natural lip perfector - 01 - £18.00 //Here//
Will I ever stop talking about this lipgloss, the answer probably not I just adore it. Super glossy and moisturizing without being sticky and tacky. 01 is the perfect shade for a super natural look. I need to get myself some more shades!

Bourjois Colour boost lip crayon - Peach on the beach - £7.99 //Here//
I adore this shade, a gorgeous pinky peach shade. It's the most perfect bright peachy glossy summer lip product, it just screams summer to me. I wear it a lot with really minimal eye makeup and a glowy base.

Clinique Chubby stick intense - Plushest punch - £17.00 //Here//
An amazing bright bold raspberry pink, I picked this up in Germany knowing I would wear it a lot through the spring. I've actually unexpectedly been reaching for it all the time. I can't believe it took me so long to give them a go. I'd love you to leave me some shade recommendations in the comments.

Gosh Velvet touch - Yours forever - £6.49 //Here//
This is a very very similar shade to the clinique one, it's a little darker and the colour is a little bit more intense. The finish of this is a lot less glossy that the clinique and sets to a almost matte finish. It lasts a really nice amount of time and wears well through eating and drinking.

Catrice Smoothing lip polish - Strawberry's secret - 4.99 (euros)
This is a gorgeous glossy coral with a lot of pink. I absolutely love the formula of these they are really glossy when first applied but once the gloss has worn off slightly the stain left behind stick around for such a long time. I find with one coat this leaves a really pretty hint of colour on the lips but with a couple of coats it can be built up to a fairly intense shade.

Rimmel Kate moss - 110 - £5.49 //Here//
I love this entire range of lipsticks from Rimmel and of course I love the massively hyped 107 but I just don't think this particular shades gets anywhere near enough hype. It's the most incredible neon orange with a little bit of pink. It has the same amazing formula as 107 that we all know so well and love. I seriously recommend anyone who's into bright lips to give this one a go!

Revlon Colorburst matte balm - Unapologetic - £7.99 //Here//
This is along the same lines as 110 however it has a lot more pink in it. It's a beautiful neon heavily pink toned shade. The formula is identical to that of showy and the lasting power is pretty much identical too!

Barry M Lip paint - 151 - £4.49 //Here//
This one is a much truer orange than 110 it has a lot less pink in it and the opacity isn't quite as intense. The finish of this is somewhere between glossy and sheeny and the lasting power is somewhere around the 4 hour mark before obvious signs of fading begin to show. I wore this a lot last summer due to the fact that it feels really hydrating on the lips and doesn't feel like it's dragging all the moisture from my lips.

Essence Longlasting lipstick - Natural beauty - £2.30 //Here//
Bar the clarins lip perfector everythings very bright so I thought i'd throw in another fairly neutral shade. This shade is gorgeous. It's a browny nude with a tiny hint of lilac mauve to it. It is my perfect lips but better shade and as much as I hate that phrase it's the only way to describe this shade.

Left to right - Showy, Orange topaz, 01, Peach on the beach, Plushest punch, Yours forever, Strawberry's secret, 110, Unapologetic, 151, Natural beauty

I'd love to know what shades you think you will be reach for over the next couple of months!

Beauty ¦ February empties

I've actually finished quite a lot this month, it's been one of those months where things have run out on me without any warning. We've got quite a lot to get through today so i'm going to stop wittering on and get on with it.

L'oreal Nude magique blur cream - Repurchase: Most likely
This is a really nice more affordable version of Benefit's porefessional, I don't quite like it as much but due to the Benefit one being almost £25 I don't use it everyday so it's nice to have an alternative. It's not quite as blurring and smoothing as the porefessional but it works well for an everyday basis.

L'oreal True match foundation - Repurchase: Yes
This is my all time favourite drugstore foundation, I wasn't the biggest fan of it when my skin was on the more oily side however now it's a little more combination it's just stunning. I haven't actually got round to repurchasing it yet however I need to get on and pick it up.

Seventeen Stay time concealer - Repurchase: Yes Yes Yes
This is another of my all time favourites this is just the best drugstore concealer I've ever used. It's super high coverage whilst not being cakey or drying. You won't need to hear me talk about this if you're a regular reader as i'm a little obsessed.

Collection Lasting perfection concealer - Repurchase: No!
I hate this stuff, it's been sat in my stash for ages and i've just decided it's time to let it go. I find it so drying and I find it cakes so badly no matter where I put it on my face.

The Body shop Camomile cleansing butter - Repurchase: Probably
This is really lovely and it's super effective for removing makeup with. It makes the skin feel really clean without feeling stripped. Due to it being a butter it makes the skin feel beautifully moisturized. It's definitely a good one and it's brill if you've got dehydrated skin.

Lady Gaga Fame eau de toilette - Repurchase: I already had a back up bottle.
I love this stuff so much I asked my mum to buy me a backup bottle for christmas as it's just amazing. It's a quite sweet scent however it has a little hint of musk so it cuts through the sweetness and balances it.

The Body shop Strawberry body butter - Repurchase: Not this scent
I mentioned when the shower gel in this scent was in my empties that I'm not the biggest fan of the strawberry scent. I really like the body shop body butters and I will continue to purchase them for the foreseeable future.

Soap and glory Whipped clean Shower butter - Repurchase: Yes
This stuff smells amazing, I reviewed it //Here//  I love it so much and it smells amazing. It doesn't stop me moisturizing on top but it does help and adds a little moisture so if I am in a massive rush I can skip moisturizer.

Yankee Candle Sparkling cinnamon - Repurchase: LE christmas scent
I really liked this but I'm in no massive rush to pick it up again, I like the cinnamon scent but it's not something that I'd burn at this time if year however I may pick up another cinnamon scent next christmas.

Beauty ¦ Rimmel by Kate - Red nose Red

This is just a little bonus post as I wanted to tell you all about this lipstick whilst you can still pick it up. Lipstick for charity ummm yes please. If you're a regular reader you will know that I am a massive fan of red lipstick, this is a really gorgeous true red shade if leaning a little pink. This is actually the shade 01 in the limited edition spotty packaging. Despite being a limited edition shade the formula hasn't been compromised,  I love the formula of these lipsticks and the lasting power is brill. £1.67 from each of these lipsticks sold goes to comic relief so it's for a really fantastic cause.

I you'd like an excuse to buy a new lipstick this is definitely a get out of jail free card, I mean it's for charity c'mon!

Beauty ¦ February favourites

I know everyone says this but how is it the end of february already, I can't quite believe it's almost my birthday it feels like it was only christmas two minutes ago. I've got quite a lot of favourites this month so i'm just going to get on with it!

The first favourite this month is something I wouldn't usually include but I've been burning it so much I had to. Yankee Black cherry is a really nice and fruity and a little sweet. It's a really lovely scent for people who are fans of sweet scents.

Soap and glory Butter yourself  is the perfect moisturizer for in a morning as it smells really fruity and sinks into the skin. It's actually motivated me to moisturize in the morning as it smells so good. I was super excited when I spotted the new Maybelline colour tattoos in boots the shade Creamy beige is such an amazing everyday base colour. I'm really enjoying using this one however it still hasn't overtaken my favourite mac paint pot. The Clinique cheek pop in berry pop is something I've been reaching for pretty much everyday for the past 3 weeks. It's a really beautiful bright pink however on the cheeks it gives a super natural pink flush.

The new Collection nude bronze eyes uncovered palette is really amazing for the price, the quality is stunning and the shades are really lovely. Pigmentation wise the only shade I was a little disappointed with was the darkest brown however all the other shades are stunning and aren't overly glittery which is something I find a fair amount of drugstore eyeshadows have too much glitter in them.  L'oreal Nude magique blur cream is a really nice alternative to benefit porefessional. It's not quite the same and it doesn't blur pores as effectively this being said it does still work really nicely and helps smooth out the skin. If you aren't willing to splash out for porefessional this is lovely however for me it's brill so I don't have to use porefessional all the time.

The final three products I have are lip products Mac brick o'la is amazing for transitioning from the colder months into spring as it's a really brown toned red so it's not too vampy but still a bit darker than your average red. Topshop lolly is a gorgeous sheer bright pink however i'm not going to talk about it too much as i'm not 100% sure but I think it's been discontinued but it's a lovely hydrating very sheer pink shade. The final product in this months favourites is the Soap and glory lip lacquer in the shade charm offensive. This is a little sticky when it's first applied but once it sets down it's going nowhere and it hangs around all day. It feels nice and hydrating on the lips and once the stickiness has gone it feels really comfortable.

Maybelline creamy beige, Clinique berry pop, Mac brick o'la, Topshop lolly, Soap and glory charm offensive.
